I emailed the Electoral Commission and asked if i can use my own pen, because when i voted in 2016,
staff at the polling centre said i had to use the pencil provided, and not my own pen.
They replied that i can use my own pen, providing it was black ink,
and did not go through the ballot, like a permanent marker would.
I take this email with me whenever i vote now.
