This is my latest thought on how to deal with the links on the site I'm building.

The first pass on the content will break the qresearch links thus:

A link to thread 65674 post 65703

will become

65674.html#q65703

or

65674.html#65703

depending on how it is in the source. I would prefer not to complicate things by doing anything to the URL past the thread number.

Breaking the link this way leaves no indication as to which site or board it refers to.

The second pass on the content will reduce any remaining 8ch links in a way that retains the board name, but the domain is eliminated. A link on thestorm board, thread 12744 post 13412 will become

thestorm/res/12744.html#13412

Links in 4chan posts will remain as they are since that is no longer an official work space.

This way, browsers of my site will NEVER be directed to 8ch at all.

The algorithm for doing this is a simple search and replace, which will help me get the next phase of the site up more quickly.

Since this algorithm uses a simple search and replace operation, I could actually do a misdirection and send them to a dummy domain name somewhere else to throw them off.

Eventually, maybe I can replace links with self-referential links that link back into my own site, at least for those posts that will reside within it. My site is an abridgement and reorganization of chan materials to make the material easier to use with only a small fraction of the chan work featured there. No shill or other filler posts will be included. Posts will be included because they were cited as important in a bread or they answer or support one of Q's questions. I also include key news items to help establish the timeline of relevant events.

None of this will be explained on the site. This way, those familiar with this site can still find things IF they are already familiar with the site, and the site can be an additional resource for them as more material is included. Newbies won't be able to follow links in.

Posting images of posts as one anon suggested would defeat the purpose of what I had in mind because I want to create a resource that is searchable within itself.
