Protections of privacy in free press

As I'm reading the HORROR of the guy at ABC in Australia (https://twitter.com/TheLyonsDen) who cannot believe their notes, thoughts, personal files, etc. may be got over to legitimately question the motives with someone who has the power of the press, it occurs to me how sad the state of privacy has become. Individuals have thought they have this level of privacy. Nothing is truly private anymore. And…if individuals do something irresponsible with it, particularly in social media, people understand or expect that irresponsible behavior, lying, slander, misrepresentation is going to be called out. BUT these people in the PRESS, they feel they should protected from THAT. It's just hitting me the protections that THEY (the media) expect that none of us are afforded. Special class. And it's interesting that when others, actual individuals have these freedoms or privacies impinged, they don't hey a minute of empathy until it's THEIR freedom of the press. Oh, what a world.
