You can't love "only" yourself. By loving yourself, you're changing the universe for the better, and that affects everyone and everything you come into contact with or influence.
Jesus didn't just teach "love your neighbor" - he taught "love your neighbor AS YOURSELF." The implication being a sacred triangle of love - love of God, love of others, love of yourself - all three being with your whole heart.
