when I see tinfoil the connotations take over

aluminum foil is a great low cost static shield, not so hot on the magnetic shielding tho.

electro magnetic pulse situations are what many people worry about, and quite frankly my opinion is that if you're close enough for that to erase the thumb drive in yer pocket that'll be the least of your worries
