Interesting point, anon. A double remove. A complete control over the conflagration. Heck, I never knew about the real-life plot until the movie came out. I'm sure the government wanted the post-War world in the dark as well considering the implications. Who's to say that the whole concept wasn't scripted? I learned to keep an open, but skeptical, mind about most anything. But Eisenhower would have had to be in the know and I cannot believe he was. Why would he go on to be their puppet only to drop a dime on them at the very end?
