Wishful thinking. The case is settled. AFAIK Flynn has plead guilty and the Judge has accepted the plea. All that is left to decide is Flynn's sentencing. That's up to the Judge to decide. Flynn's atty will argue in vain for no time in da joint, and the US persecutor will argue for a short sentence. From Flynn's last hearing it's reasonable to infer that the Judge thinks the crime Flynn plead guilty to is quite serious and demands a significant sentence to a Federal Pen. But again there is little legal work to do (mostly procedural paper work).
Covington is a firm that specializes in Federal white collar criminal defense in the Washington DC district. This means they are outrageously expensive. According to sources close to Flynn (his brother, Hannity, Sara Carter and a few others), this case has financially devastated Flynn. Given where the case is, any decent criminal atty with familiarity of the Federal Criminal Courts can handle the remainder of this case, there's no reason for Flynn to rack up anymore EXPENSIVE billable hours with Covington. He may even have a friend who will do it pro bono.
In any event, Occam's Razor, this is by a large margin, the likely reason for the change. I'm not even sure that Flynn's plea can be withdrawn at this point, and it is WAAY too late to argue for a dismissal.
