“The president’s behavior in the Cabinet Room, the Rose Garden, and subsequently was justifiably alarming, but it is about time we recognize that we are dealing with someone who is not capable of thinking rationally—our report on the Mueller report has proven that. Rather, the media have not served the public well with the constant fixation on Donald Trump’s behavior, which has normalized him without offering a solution—or worse, has widely broadcast his gaslighting and distortion techniques to spread his pathology to a national level.”

That’s the take of Brandy X. Lee, a “forensic psychiatrist” at Yale School of Medicine, who edited “The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump.”

So, of course, Democrats are planning to bring her and other psychiatrists to Capitol Hill to label Trump unfit for office.

Lee has been cashing in on questioning Trump’s mental capacity, appearing on TV and selling her book.

But the American Psychiatric Association (APA) has told its members to support a decades-long principle that tells psychiatrists they should not offer diagnostic opinions about people they’ve never examined. “We at the APA call for an end to psychiatrists providing professional opinions in the media about public figures whom they have not examined, whether it be on cable news appearances, books, or in social media,” the group wrote. “Arm-chair psychiatry or the use of psychiatry as a political tool is the misuse of psychiatry and is unacceptable and unethical.”

But Lee doesn’t adhere to that principle. “The president’s condition has been visibly deteriorating to the point where there’s a lot of talk right now about his mental state beyond mental health professionals,” Lee said, even though she’s never examined him. “It no longer takes a mental health professional to recognize the seriousness of the current presidency.”

“Budget Committee Chairman John Yarmuth, D-Ky., who has called for Trump’s impeachment, confirmed the event was in the works, but said it would be more likely to occur in July because lawmakers have a full plate in June with spending bills,” The Washington Examiner reported.

JUST IN: House Democrats Introduce Contempt Resolution For AG Bill Barr, Former White House Counsel Don McGahn

Bill Barr, Don McGahn

House Democrats officially introduced a resolution to hold Attorney General Bill Barr and former White House counsel Don McGahn in contempt for defying congressional subpoenas.

The contempt resolution will give House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) the opportunity to go to court to seek civil enforcement of the subpoena to force Barr to turn over Mueller’s unredacted report and the underlying intelligence, as well as for Don McGahn to turn over documents and publicly testify.

The House is expected to vote on the resolution on Monday.

The Hill reported:

The resolution also gives any committee chair the rare power to go to federal court to seek civil enforcement of subpoenas, both current and future orders, so long as they are granted approval by the Bipartisan Legal Advisory Group.

The House Rules Committee is expected to mark up the resolution to hold Barr and McGahn in contempt on Monday, according to a Democratic congressional aide, and the full House is slated to vote on the resolution Tuesday.

Recall, Nadler subpoenaed Bill Barr for the full, unredacted Mueller report, the underlying evidence and secret grand jury material in April.

Bill Barr followed the law and released a redacted version of Mueller’s report — Barr cannot release grand jury material because it is prohibited by law to disclose people’s names who have not been indicted.

A less redacted version of Mueller’s report is available to select law makers, including Nadler, to be viewed in a SCIF [Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility] however the Democrats are rejecting this arrangement because they won’t be able to leak information to their stenographers in the media.

The House committee has also subpoenaed former White House counsel Don McGahn, however he refused to testify, citing a legal opinion released by the DOJ arguing he was immune from testifying because he was one of President Trump’s advisors.

At this time, Democrats are only perusing civil contempt, however they will pursue additional criminal contempt if they find behavior that “egregious enough” according to a Dem aide, The Hill reported.
