I use my cell phone almost exclusively to call one person, for years now. I rarely get any stray calls from unknown numbers. Tonight I e-mail the standard recipient that my phone is on so we can communicate. A short time later I get a call from an unknown number.
In my case this means something is monitoring my cell phone and e-mail simultaneously, which is totally plausible.
After setting up a second phone a few years ago, I went online to research teeth. A short time later I get a call on that new phone from a number that gulag revealed to be a dental practice. That sim card was also barraged with trash calls, and I ditched it.
I've read about all kinds of bizarre roundabout relays, people sitting in one room doing something or other, and other people getting related ads in another room, is one I remember.
