The problem with this theory is that many of the idols are scum, and after a while, it becomes obvious. I used to like Lady Gaga, now I don't care for her at all. After a while, the rhetoric gets old and stale, Born This Way is a trap ideology that relegates one to a single viewpoint, that we are powerless over our identity and future. I couldn't agree with it and the illusion was shattered. Same thing goes for most other pop artists.

This was during my ignorance and gathering of propaganda as facts. A sharp rebuttal from him, but highly effective at getting me to look at both sides of the arguments and coming up with my own conclusions. My parents were major forces of my transformation, and continually seeing the MSM try to break apart the nuclear family only bolstered my positions. There are many that do not have parents to guide them, and they turn to music, television, and social media to provide their intelligence, which ends up making them more susceptible to propaganda. It's a demented cycle, and it's hard to break for many.
