Investors rush to gold amid market uncertainties

Gold has reached its highest price in three years as more investors purchase the precious metal amid growing economic uncertainties, triggered by the escalating trade dispute between the U.S. and China, according to the Korea Exchange (KRX) Friday.

The price of gold stood at 50,920 won ($43.15) per gram as of 2 p.m. Friday, up 10 won, or 0.02 percent, from the previous day's session.

The figure jumped about 10 percent from its January price of 46,240 won per gram, and is also the highest since the price surged to 50,500 won on July 8, 2016, when Brexit drove investors into a panic.

Investors' rush to gold also raised its monthly trade volume. The KRX said 557 kilograms worth of gold bars were traded last month, the largest trade volume since August.

GOP Hopeful Targets Ocasio-Cortez In 2020, Dubs AOC ‘All Out Crazy’

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez likes being known as AOC, but a Republican planning to run against the former bartender came up with a new meaning for her moniker.

“AOC – All Out Crazy – wants to establish a new Soviet Republic,” Rich Valdes told some 100 people at the Queens Village Republican Club meeting on Thursday evening. “I believe in capitalism over socialism. Her misguided policies don’t represent the district.”

Valdes is a Republican from New Jersey who plans to move to Ocasio-Cortez’s district in order to oppose her in the 2020 election. He is a conservative radio producer who formerly worked for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

Valdes said AOC is focusing on the environment — offering the Green New Deal, with a pricetag of $93 trillion over a decade — when her constituents care about other issues.

“She’s great at fundraising but not at constituent services. Ask around, most constituents don’t think climate change is a number one issue,” he said.

Jewish shop owners are hounded, threatened and run out of town. Their businesses are the targets of prolonged campaigns of intimidation, culminating in months of demonstrations at their doors with up to a thousand angry protesters at a time shooting red paint bombs and mutilated dolls at employees.

Owners of these businesses threatened with death and (real) bombings. The threats including their families.

Police refuse to step in, saying the protesters are behaving lawfully. In fact, a top politician supports and is listed as a patron of the organization behind the protests.

Germany 1933? Or the UK in 2019? Actually both.

Germany’s interior minister and the Berlin mayor allowed the annual pro-Iranian/pro-Hezbollah Al-Quds (Jerusalem) Day rally to take place in Berlin. The purpose of the rally is traditionally to call for the destruction of the Jewish state.

The U.S. embassy in Germany tweeted, “Germany’s federal courts decided years ago that Hezbollah is a unified organization dedicated to the destruction of Israel. Symbols of Hezbollah are banned, why not the entire organization?”

Ironically, just days after the rally, Angela Merkel, Germany’s leader, said, “There is to this day not a single synagogue, not a single daycare center for Jewish children, not a single school for Jewish children that does not need to be guarded by German policemen.”

The rally also came on the heels of an unprecedented report released by Germany’s domestic security agency about how anti-Semitism among the country’s Muslim population is a major problem in the country.

Not only has Merkel and her interior minister blatantly refused to ban the internationally-recognized terror group Hezbollah dedicated to the destruction of Jews, they have refused to even entertain the question.

Small wonder that every Jewish establishment in Germany needs police protection.

“When a nation calls for greatness, our country answers,” she said.

She noted the fact that the latest bout of conservative censorship emerged on the 75th Observance of D-Day and explained what it meant to her.

“There’s one thing I really think about — what was the news yesterday with YouTube and Facebook and all of the social media and tech platforms — it seems so weird that this has kind of spilled out fully in the public sphere where now late night news is discussing it even,” Loesch said. “And it happened on the observance — the 75th Observance of D-Day.”

“I think that if those soldiers — who were on those amphibious transports going toward certain death — if they were here in our age in modern time today, do you think they would be bothered that someone made a mean video about them on YouTube?” Loesch asked.

Disney's CEO has also threatened to stop filming in states where abortion is illegal, which is a head-scratcher considering this guy runs a company that depends on little kids as customers. Why would he try to reduce the population of his fan base? Fox News also reported that all of these companies claiming they care about "women's rights" to kill their offspring have partnered with countries like Egypt, where abortions are also illegal, and China, where human rights abuses are well documented.

ISIS plotted to send terrorists to US via Mexico border, new report says

An ISIS plot to take advantage of the vulnerability of the U.S.-Mexico border and send fighters to the United States has been revealed by a repentant ISIS fighter in custody, according to Homeland Security Today.

The nonprofit media outlet recently published a report detailing an interview with a Canadian ISIS member imprisoned in Syria, who said ISIS organizers had been planning to have members travel to the U.S. and penetrate the U.S.-Mexico border.

“They were going to move me to the Mexican side [of the U.S. southern border] via Puerto Rico,” Abu Henricki said, according to Homeland Security Today’s June 3 report. “This was mastermind[ed] by a guy in America. Where he is, I do not know. That information, the plan came from someone from the New Jersey state from America. I was going to take a boat [from Puerto Rico] into Mexico. He was going to smuggle me in. I don’t know where I’d end up.”

Following the 2020 census, every state will draw new district boundaries to reflect changes in the population, the political implications of which will stretch for at least the next decade. In 2014, New York approved a constitutional amendment establishing a nonpartisan redistricting commission, which is set to take over the redistricting process starting in 2020. The 10-member commission, meant to be independent from the legislature, is made up of individuals selected by leaders from the state Senate and Assembly, and the original eight members pick two additional members.

Report: Illegal Immigrants Are Flying All Over The US — Without Valid ID

When some illegal immigrants are released by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), they are literally flying from the border, reportedly without valid identification.

The border crisis has put such a strain on bus lines and local accommodation that the Transport Security Administration (TSA) is apparently violating its own security measures, the Washington Examiner reported Friday.

25 injured as explosion rocks Swedish city of Linkoping, bomb squad investigating

The bomb squad has been dispatched to the scene to investigate an explosion in Linkoping, a town in southern Sweden. At least 25 people are confirmed injured, RT.com writes.

The shockwave from the large blast, which took place at roughly 9am local time, destroyed nearby windows and balconies and damaged other buildings. Some 20 ambulances were also sent to the scene with at least six fire tenders in support. The police have confirmed that at least 25 people sustained injuries in the blast.

“I stood in the shower and noticed that the whole house shook. It rumbled like thunder,” witness Pontus Johansson told Aftonbladet.

Police have cordoned off several blocks in the immediate area but there are, as yet, no plans to evacuate local residents.

“We started to get a large number of calls from people about a heavy explosion in central Linköping, on Hamngatan,” said Björn Öberg at the police’s management center.

Former vice justice minister indicted for bribery

A special team of prosecutors indicted former Vice Justice Minister Kim Hak-ui, Tuesday, on charges of receiving 170 million won ($143,700) and sexual favors in bribes from a construction contractor, six years after the case was first made public.

However, they failed to confirm the allegation that Kim raped a woman, surnamed Lee, and that presidential officials at the time interfered with the investigation.

The former vice minister is accused of receiving bribes worth 170 million won, including 31 million won in cash, from a construction contractor named Yoon Jung-cheon between January 2007 and February 2008.

Yoon allegedly also arranged sex parties for Kim and other ranking officials at his holiday home in Wonju, Gangwon Province, along with prostitutes.

According to the team, Kim pressured Yoon to forgive a 100 million won debt owed to the latter by Lee. Lee allegedly had sex with Kim, but then said she would make this public as a rape allegation unless the debt was erased. Yoon allegedly did so in return for Kim's promise to grant him favors in future legal issue

A Long March 11 rocket lifted off from a mobile launchpad floating in the Yellow Sea off eastern China’s Shandong province, delivering as many as five commercial satellites and two others, allegedly containing experimental technology for weather forecasting and ship navigation systems, into orbit.
