I'm not for debt forgiveness so to speak - but I will say that "they are stupid kids" or "they are stupid parents" is a blatant disregard of the reality of what happened.

First - no other form of debt is that damning. I can file for bankruptcy and keep a house and a car I both owe money on. That is a legal thing. A student is permanently fucked in regard to student loans. Bankruptcy does not eliminate it.

So, here is what happened. The federal government opens up a bond program for banks to buy into its student loan program. They literally sold this idea on the fact that the debtor could never escape the terms of the bond. Ever. That is why "investors" bought these bonds.

Kids go to school their entire life, being told they need a good education to get a decent job. They are encouraged to go to college at every turn and every step. They leave highschool and there's a counselor waiting with open arms to sign them up for college (actually, they don't even get out of highschool before that happens).

They are there 'to help them INVEST in their future.' These advisers' entire job is to be salesmen disguised as assistants and get students to enroll in any god forsaken program the college has and find whatever means they can to "help" these kids pay for it.

There were colleges literally advocating for the use of prostitution to pay off student debt. (Well, it was called being a "sugar baby" or something like that - basically an escort service with a longer term of contract).

The colleges turn around and realize that they can charge more for less and the government will be expected to cover the difference for students. The banks continue to pour money into the system because it is 'more secure' than real estate investments - and the whole system explodes in cost way beyond reason.

Then, years later, students get out of college to find that the "investment" wasn't really all it was cracked up to be.

Arguing "they should have seen it coming" is no different than saying "well, we gave them all the information to tell them we were lying, so, it's their fault for not detecting the lie." It's an attempt at displacement.

These kids were set up at every turn to be slaves. Slavery is abhorrent. Bottom line.

I'm not saying a unicorn and rainbow should appear to make all their problems go away. What was done to them, however, is wrong and can't be justified, and a way to resolve it must be afforded if justice is to be done.

They probably think they are above the law. Many of these people are used to serving a "respectable clientele" who can bail them out of hot water.

The real dig may also have been at people who have auto image downloading scripts running, too. "See, he downloaded this CP image when it was posted!" The deep state is full of shallow little "aha!" Tricks like that designed to intimidate people.

If he was not charged, what basis would investigators and defense attorneys have for subpoenas on classified documents/records?

Being a team player means thinking about the team's end goal and prioritizing it above individual penalties. If the team takes care of its members, then they will have his back when it comes to clearing any apparent shame.

Now everyone is catching on.

If you know the enemy is going to launch investigations to try and intimidate you, you can 'control' the suspects and in so doing, control the investigation. Bonus points if you can 'control' the investigation.

Remember how Congress wanted Mueller to say, one way or the other, whether he thought the President committed obstruction? These are lawyers. They want to try and use Mueller's statements, one way or another, as justification for their next course of action.
