Lurking Lawyer here.

The ‘safe third country’ thing is pursuant to US immigration law 8USC§1158(2).

BUT the underlying international treaty law is the 1951 Refugee Accord, to which both Mexico and US are signatories.

It established the obligation of a ‘country of first refuge’ to offer asylum.

For Central Americans, Mexico IS the ‘country of first refuge’.

They have not honored that treaty obligation, instead ferrying their faux asylum seekers to the US border.

To be honest, I’ve never fully understood the Flynn “lies”.

I went back and reread the indictment and then reread the new version of the FBI 302.

The “lies” center on two things – the UN vote on Israeli settlements (?) and the call(s) to the Russian Ambassador.

The indictment lists several steps it claims Flynn took with regard to each. If you read the 302 carefully, it isn’t like the FBI agents ask – do you confirm or deny asking (country name here) to delay or otherwise vote against the resolution.

If he denies and then they have recorded conversations that show the opposite I suppose that is a big problem.

But the 302 only has the most general questions and answers. I don’t see how you can be “guilty” of anything there.

On the Russian ambassador, I would like to raise an issue that I have not seen MENTIONED ANYWHERE.

They (the NSA I suppose) are capturing conversations UPSTREAM. He is at the end of the loop (IN THE DAM DOMINICAN REPUBLIC for God’s sake).

He tells the agents the connectivity is bad. They (the NSA) cannot know (I don’t believe) what he is actually hearing.

They have access where the communications stream is not corrupted by noise and local connection problems. Flynn may be completely honest in what he thought he heard and said. As I mention, he complains about the connection issues…

All I can say is the simple comparison between the indictment and the 302 gives me no reason to believe he lied about anything SPECIFIC.

One last point, the indictment also suggests that his lies “impeded and otherwise had a material effect on the FBI’s ongoing investigation of any links or coordination – blah, blah, blah”. They provide ZERO justification for that rather bold statement.

None of this passes the smell test – none of it….

THEORY

Could you imagine if the plan is/has been to unite all of those targeted by the Mueller team including Flynn, PapaD, Manafort, Cohen and possibly PT under deGenova and Toensing?

Think about it, if you consolidate all of these folks under one very knowledgeable legal team who will not hold back in the seeking of justice and imagine what could be uncovered via discovery if Joe and Victoria are let loose?

If so then we may have a very, very interesting show coming up!

Sunlight coupled with massive exposure to the American people of the truth!
