AVENTON, N.C. (WNCN) - The Nash County Sheriff's Office is investigating reports of a downed aircraft, according to a news release.

Highway 43 near Harrison Road in the Aventon area of the county is closed as Nash County deputies and other emergency responders investigate, the news release said.

No further information was immediately available. CBS 17 has a crew en route to the scene and will update this story.
