It is within the capabilities of stone-age cultures to make battery cells and with DC batteries you can easily get to electrolysis which is easy to experiment with and could lead to purification of all kinds of elemental metals that we think were unknown before the Industrial revolution.

 

Certainly this could be an interesting area for a technically inclined person to dig into.

Could just as well be the Narts because the Nart Sagas were from the people (Bogatyrs) who developed the culture of chivalry that dominated the noble and monarchic bloodlines of Europe. The Bogatyrs may well be from the Turkic Ashina clan that created the Gokturk empire.
