The statement may be inacurate, but my statement is based on The History Channels documentary on Hitler which gave an overview of his rise to power.
The point of the statement is not whether it is accurate or not.
When a leader of a foreign faction gets an insider to become a traitor, said traitor is expendable. If the insider will betray his commanders then the leader of the foreign faction can not trust him either, and such betrayers will eventually be killed. Either by the foreign faction leader or as a gift the the existing leadership.
