biologically speaking there are such things as hermaphrodites. These are not trannies, and they are born with both sets of gonads.
The sad case about hermaphrodites is the parents make the sex assignment surgery at birth, and in some cases make the wrong the guess. This is much different than being born as male or female and trying to switch.
