Israeli Warplanes Strike Targets in Southern Gaza - Reports

According to reports, Israeli warplanes struck targets in Southern Gaza Thursday morning local time.

The airstrikes are occurring in the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip as well as in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza, according to reports.

In video recordings shared on social media, the sounds of warplanes can be heard. Additionally, shared footage captures the usage of drones.

The strikes come after the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reported that the country's Iron Dome air defense system shot down a projectile after air raid sirens were heard in the south of the country. The sirens were triggered in Nirim, east of the Gaza Strip, Sputnik previously reported. There were no damages or injuries caused by the attack, a community spokesperson said.

The missile attack follows the recent announcement that Tel Aviv would be completely closing off sea access to Gaza following the interception last week of two boats bound for Egypt from the strip that the IDF claimed were involved in smuggling rocket parts into the self-governing area, Sputnik reported.

Israeli minister’s diaries reveal Mossad involvement in anti-BDS push abroad

Israeli intelligence arm Mossad has worked with the BDS-fighting Strategic Affairs Ministry to counter the international Boycott Divestment and Sanctions movement, government diaries reveal.

The Strategic Affairs Ministry has been referred to as Israel’s ‘anti-BDS start up,’ and was behind the blacklist of 20 international BDS groups. It also set up the secretive Kella Shlomo corporation –now called Concert– with $36 million in government funding to carry out covert “mass awareness activities” and online engagement efforts to counter boycotts supporting Palestinians and the “delegitimization” of Israel.

The 2018 diaries of Strategic Affairs Minister Gilad Erdan reveal he met with Yossi Cohen, the head of Israel’s foreign intelligence agency Mossad, to discuss “the struggle against the boycott.”

The diaries were obtained as part of a Freedom of Information Act request by the Hatzlaha movement which requested the same information from all ministers. Erdan’s office told Haaretz the meeting was just a “review,” but its sources confirmed the ministry works with the Mossad.

John Brennan Explodes Over Trump Saying He Might Not Alert FBI About Foreign Oppo Research Contact in Interview With ABC’s Stephanopoulos

Former CIA Director John Brennan exploded in outrage Wednesday over President Trump’s comments to ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos that he might not alert the FBI if a foreign government tried to interest his campaign in opposition research on an opponent.

Trump took a real world approach to the question, which has not sat well with his critics but it is a subject his interviewer knows well. Before joining ABC News, Stephanopoulos was a senior campaign advisor to the 1992 presidential campaign of Bill Clinton and then served as a senior advisor to President Clinton in the White House from 1993 through the end of 1996. Stephanopoulos worked for Clinton while Clinton was taking thousands of dollars from Communist Chinese agents for his 1996 reelection, including Johnny Chung pictured below. In contrast, the Trump campaign was not funded by foreign governments.

US Senators Meet with Jewish Leaders in Semi-secret Annual Event

An article in the Times of Israel reports that “Jewish leaders are meeting with Senate Democrats today.” According to the report, this is an annual event. A quarter of the Senate was in attendance (see list below).

All except one of the organizations represented by the Jewish leaders at the meeting advocate for Israel.

Several of the organizations participating are focused on preventing the erosion of support for Israel among Democratic voters. Recent polls show that the large majority of progressive Americans now support Palestinian human rights.

Many of the meeting participants, both Senators and Jewish leaders, are particularly known for their pro-Israel work. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer calls himself a “guardian of Israel.”

Time, location, & agenda hidden from US voters

The meeting does not seem to have been announced publicly ahead of time, and staffers at Senate offices contacted for this article were not aware of it.

The chair for the meeting is Democratic Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, a 2020 presidential candidate.

Klobuchar is a strong Israel supporter and announces on her website that she supported the $38 billion package to Israel. (This amounts to about $7,000 to Israel per minute; approximately $20,000 per Israeli family of four.)

Klobuchar’s office would not reveal the location or time of the meeting. It also would not provide the agenda.

The offices of other Senators reportedly participating in the meeting that were contacted for this article – Tim Kaine, Patty Murray, and Chris Koons – also refused to provide this information to the American public.

Millions more dollars to “nonprofits”

JTA Washington DC bureau chief Ron Kampeas reports in his email news letter that in addition to discussing Israel and antisemitism, “The Orthodox Union and the Jewish Federations of North America talked up legislation that would increase funding for security grants to nonprofits. A bill under consideration in the Senate ups the current $50 million to $70 million, and one in the House brings it to $90 million.”

A 2014 article in the Jewish Forward reported that Jewish institutions got 94 percent of such grants.

Bernie: ‘Racial Discrimination’ Made Trump Rich; Finish FDR’s New Deal

Presidential hopeful Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) made the case for democratic socialism in a speech to students at George Washington University on Wednesday, while he slammed President Donald Trump as an oligarch whose “empire” was built on “racial discrimination.”

Sanders praised others whm he said were democratic socialists, including President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and he pledged as president to create a “Bill of Economic Rights” that would fulfill FDR’s vision of the New Deal.

“Eighty years ago President Roosevelt helped create a government that made transformative progress in protecting the needs of working families,” Sanders said. “Today in the second decade of the 21st century we must take up the unfinished business of the New Deal and carry it to completion.”

“Now we must take the next step forward and guarantee every man, woman, and child in our country basic economic rights,” Sanders said. “The right to quality health care; the right to as much education as one needs to succeed in our society.”

“The right to a good job that pays a living wage,” Sanders said. “The right to affordable housing. The right to a secure retirement and the right to live in a clean environment.”

Without these rights, Sanders said, Americans cannot experience “true freedom.”

In the 45-minute speech Sanders repeatedly referenced the “oligarchy” and “authoritarianism” taking place around the world and compared Trump to Russia’s Putin and China’s Xi Jinping.

“Across the globe the movement toward oligarchy runs parallel to the growth of authoritarian regimes like Putin in Russia, Xi in China, Mohammed bin Salman in Saudi Arabia, Rodrigo Duterte in the Philippines, Jair Bolsonaro in Brazil, and Viktor Orban in Hungary among others,” Sanders said.

“These leaders, Sanders said, are “cracking down on human rights” of religious and racial minorities, immigrant, and the LGBT community.

“In the United States we have our own version of this movement, which is being led by President Trump and many of his Republican allies who are attempting to divide our country and attack these very same communities,” Sanders said.

Sanders defended democratic socialism as good socialism and compared it to the “corporate socialism” he said Trump embraces. Corporate socialism, Sanders said, enables insurance companies, the fossil fuel industry, the pharmaceutical industry, Wall Street, the “prison” and “military complex,” and “giant agribusiness” to a create the laws governing Americans to a “significant degree.”

Sanders’ speech included many references to income inequality and the struggle of poor people in the United States and around the globe but said that this could change through a “political revolution.”

“Millions of people get involved in the political process to reclaim our democrary by having the courage to take on the powerful corporate interests whose greed is destroying the social and economic fabric of our country,” Sanders said.

“They are just one percent,” Sanders said. “When the 99 percent stand together we can transform society.”

“These are my values and that is why I call myself a democratic socialist,” Sanders said. “At its core is a deep and abiding faith in the American people to peacefully and democratically enact the transformative change that will create shared prosperity, social equality, and true freedom for all.”

US Attorney Durham Is Interviewing CIA Operatives on Trump Spying… Better Lawyer Up John Brennan!

The Bill Barr Justice Department plans on interviewing senior CIA officials as part of its expanding investigation into the Obama Deep State spying on the Trump campaign in the 2016 election, according to a new report at The New York Times.

CIA Director Gina Haspel has told senior officials that while the CIA plans to cooperate, it will protect information that could place sources or collection methods at risk.

According to the Trump-hating NY Times, intel officials have been informed that Attorney General William Barr has assigned the United States attorney in Connecticut, John Durham, to seek the interviews.

Barr is also still trying to piece together why Obama administration believe Putin ordered Russian operatives to aid President Trump in 2016.

Sean Hannity added that the Department of Justice is also seeking cooperation from foreign intelligence agencies including Italy, the UK and Australia who were used by the Obama deep state to help spy on Trump campaign officials.

John Brennan may want to quit trolling on Twitter and get himself a good lawyer.
