CIA Director Mike Pompeo and FBI Director James Comey may be attending a secret Five Eyes spy meeting in New Zealand
(VERO BEACH, FL) The highly secretive meeting is being held in Queenstown, NZ this coming weekend and is believed to include representatives from 15 intelligence agencies which carry out spying for the Five Eyes network.
Five Eyes is a spying partnership between the United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.
On Wednesday a spokesman for New Zealand Prime Minister Bill English confirmed that a number of senior intelligence officials were coming to Queenstown for a government hosted conference, but did not reveal the meetings agenda.
"Due to specific security requirements we cannot comment further at this time,” English said. “However, as police have pointed out they are not aware of a visit to Queenstown by a current or former head of state."
According to the NZ Herald, a local newspaper, FBI Director James Comey and CIA Director Mike Pompeo are believed to attending the gathering, along with New ZealandÂ’s Minister for the Government Communications and Security Bureau (GCSB) and Security Intelligence Service (SIS) Chris FinlaysonÂ’s.
High profile spy gatherings are usually kept secret, and New Zealand has often been picked as a destination spot for such conferences.
In 2016, former New Zealand Prime Minister John Key disclosed that ObamaÂ’s ODNI chief Jim Clapper had visited on his way to Australia for an official Five eyes conference.
If the rumors are true, this would not be the first visit by FBI Director James Comey to New Zealand. In March 2016 he made a stop in the reclusive destination to meet with Kiwi spy chief Chris Finlayson and Police Commissioner Mike Bush.
Kim Dotcom, the founder of Megaupload.com, who the U.S. has long sought to extradite on charges of criminal copyright infringement, money laundering, and wire fraud, chimed in on the alleged spy chief get-together, jokingly tweeting, “the 5 eyed spy monster that fails to keep its secrets secret.”
TRUNEWS correspondent asked Kim Dotcom, who has been known for funny stunts to promote internet freedom, if he plans to crash the secretive conference in Queensland.

The UK Home Secretary has signed an order allowing Julian Assange to be extradited to the US, he confirmed today.
Sajid Javid said "I want to see justice done" as he cleared a key hurdle standing between the Wikileaks founder and possible decades in jail.
The announcement is likely to be seen as a final show of strength by the Tory leadership contender as MPs voted on the next Prime Minister today.
Mr Javid has repeatedly rejected Labour's pleas to block the extradition of the 47-year-old after he was dragged out of a 2,487-day stay in the Ecuadorean embassy.
Assange will face his latest legal hearing tomorrow and while the final decision is for the courts, Mr Javid said he would not stand in the way of extradition.

President Trump has picked Eric Ueland, currently deputy assistant to the president for domestic policy, to replace Shahira Knight as his top liaison to Capitol Hill, according two sources with direct knowledge of the decision. Ueland has deep experience in Congress and is widely respected on Capitol Hill, and the White House did not immediately respond to request for comment.
Why it matters: It’s perhaps the hardest job in Washington. The White House is at war with House Democrats, who have initiated a blizzard of subpoenas. Trump has made clear he wants his current and former staff to stonewall House Democrats and that he expects to get no big legislative items done (for example, infrastructure) while Democrats are investigating him.
