a test?
you are pushing the envelope and you might make others testee.
I'll attest to this: if you make it they might use it. But if you make it a 'test' they'll probably just want to . . . not use it or use it disgracefully.
so the better grace is to not give tests of frenz-ship.
when people think you are weighing them, they might want to show you that your scale can never work for them.
Like if you're invited to the white house and you have a real gift they have a way that you'd have to present it and you are not going to actually be able to hand something over to 'the man' whose birthday it is. So you're there with this wrapped thing and security people are like looking at each other and giving the 'this is an odd one' look (I'm thinking they must have some way of signalling how they percieve those who come around.).
and so, here? will Potus miss it?
well, he's busy. so maybe.
and you might feel, "if he doesn't see it, it's like someone's left my cake out in the rain'" which is a partial lyric to an old sappy song (that's rather hard to fathom if you deconstruct it cultureally, but that's an aside).
Now, as to your idea: that's a good one.
but as to your presenation of the idea:
well where is the link?
if you say 'someone should, blah blah blah' then you need to pony-up the effort, and just give it over. It would be like 'I thought everyone would want a one ounce gold coin and so, here it is, one for each of you.'
what could we say then? we would accept your generosity.
but you are tasking someone with doing your bidding. Unless you are an officer that kind of thing rarely works.
and officers only task what is not tasked to them.
so you are saying 'well, I dno't know how to make a thred so can someone please help me?'
or 'this is a test. If you don't do this for me you fail.'
That last approach, of calling it a test, is a test all of it's own: about you. how are you coming off in that test, youngster? are you passing or failing?
I say you pass because of enthusiasm. And you need someone to teach you how to measure out your ideas in a way that doesn't offend the other idea measuring people.
so the points:
-
don't give tests like this.
-
if you can do it, unless you are an officer, you can't just suggest it and have others do it.
-
if you can do it, just do it.
-
if you ask nicely and suggest that it's a good idea but you are not yet at a place where you are able there are two choices: learn how, second: ask nicely for some help.
not a test, a requst.
so back atcha with the final line.
