I'm an older Britbong and the article is technically true but it misses some context. Pedophilia was not really talked about before the late 1990's. In 1997 Channel 4 ran a comedy show called Brass Eye that did a Pedophile Special and that brought it out. Before then everyone knew what a Pedophile was but it was kind of your own responsibility as a child to avoid the dirty old men handing out sweets. No one talked about institutionalized Pedophilia. How naive we were. Anyway, here is a clip from Brass Eye. Dark comedy but very funny. Takes the piss out of 24 News more than anything else. Very ahead of it's time.
