Celebrating #LSP20th, #OTD 2012, @NASA_LSP launched @NASANuSTAR to study a range of high-energy sources including black holes.

NASA's Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope Array (NuSTAR) launched into the morning skies over the central Pacific Ocean at 9 a.m. PDT (noon EDT), beginning its mission to unveil secrets of buried black holes and other exotic objects.

#NASAโ€™s first-ever mission to return an asteroid sample to Earth just broke its own world record for the closest orbit of a planetary body by a spacecraft. @OSIRISREx is now in an orbit 680 meters (2,231 feet) above the surface of asteroid Bennu!

Tara Regio is the yellowish area to left of center, in this NASA Galileo image of Europaโ€™s surface. This region of geologic chaos is the area researchers identified an abundance of sodium chloride.
