A bread or two back was a notable story on an earthquake storm in the inland empire of the Los Angeles region (more near San Bernardino), plus a flow of tar/oil seeping up through the streets of Los Angeles. Very misleading, the connection attempting to be made between the two. The tar seeping happened along the street bordering the LaBrea Tar Pits park, which if anyone bothers to research, is a part of LA county famous for that very thing, something which has been happening with regularity for thousands of years. Oil and methane seepage there is an everyday thing. This event was notable for coming out of a sub surface water service utility box on the street corner, making it a very visible event for drivers, enough to make it a story for dopey local news media. For a few years I lived near there, and often visited that Tar Pits park to check on the latest seepage events, which could happen literally anywhere within that region. Other than what has been going on for centuries, there's nothing to see there. Nothing to dig about. Move along.
