true, but it depends on what you're using it for.

if you're using it to bioaccumulate toxins/salts, you can't use it for food/medicine.

if you're using it to bring up nutrients from deep, you have to mulch it back into the field and can't use it for food either.

either way, the field is unproductive for the time that you are using the heal the soil.

which brings us back to this

a better way to approach this is to use the time that the field lies fallow to do cover cropping.

there's a lot of good techniques in permaculture, etc. but they need to be incorporated incrementally over time to balance the food system as it exists.

it's not going to happen overnight or in 1 year or even 5 years.
