Nah, in fact for the sake of the show's drama I think they even overemphasized how evil Walt really was. Him "causing" the plane crash was supposed to represent the ripple effects of what he was doing. Don't just assume that a work of art is 'glorifying' something simply because it is the subject matter. There are nuances. Like his family crying and his son disowning him for being a multi million dollar drug lord. Anyone real would have been like "COOL DAD! WOW!" It's about the persona of Walt/Heisenberg.
