He not only sold out his fellow POWs for better treatment; even worse, he got over 500 POWs in Vietnam and Laos killed between 1975 and 1986, long after the war ended, by preventing the Carter and Reagan administrations from taking steps to repatriate them – as Hanoi and Vientiane wanted to do… for the right price.
