WYALUSING, Pa. (AP) — Four people were found dead in a northern Pennsylvania home in what is believed to have been a murder-suicide, state police said.

Police in Bradford County said the bodies were found Friday in a home in Wyalusing. Jesse Lee Northrup is believed to have shot and killed Edwin Bidlack, Candy Diane Bidlack and Johnnie Johnson, whose bodies were found in separate locations in the residence, police said.

Baguio suicide cases rising

BAGUIO CITY: City health officials have expressed alarm at the rising number of suicides in this city.

Donnabel Tubera, medical officer of the City Health Services Office, said from the average of two suicide cases a month last year, four suicide cases a month were recorded during the first quarter of 2019.

She added that most of the suicide cases were that of hanging, based on post-mortem results.

Man killed in Route 30 fall identified

LANCASTER COUNTY — The Lancaster County Coroner's Office has confirmed the identity of the man who died on Monday evening after falling off an overpass on Route 30.

On Tuesday the coroner confirmed that 22-year-old Brian Kelly was killed after he fell from the New Holland Pike overpass onto the westbound lanes of Route 30.

After falling from the overpass, Kelly was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on Route 30. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The coroner said Kelly's cause of death was multiple traumatic injuries and ruled the death a suicide.

Detectives investigating homicide initially thought to be suicide

Birmingham Fire and the Jefferson County Coroner arrived at the scene and pronounced the victim dead due to a gunshot wound. Keith Lamont Tolbert, 44, was found unresponsive at the scene.

Fisheries employee commits suicide

WALVIS BAY - A fisheries and marine resources employee at its Walvis Bay office was found dead at his home yesterday after he initially sent a frantic message to a colleague.

The man identified as Emmanuel Andjele (57), allegedly shot himself in the head with a pistol at his home in Tutaleni at around 10h00.

Andjele was found in his bathroom, by members of the police who went to his house after being alerted by his fellow employees.

According to the police, Andjele allegedly sent a text message to his colleagues in which he apologised for taking his own life.

“Sorry to leave this way but I can’t take it longer, miss me but let me go,” stated the frantic message.

The worried colleagues immediately notified the Nampol, who in turn went to Andjele’s house.

However, he had already shot himself and was found in a pool of blood in his bathroom.

No foul play is suspect and his next of kin were informed.

HICKSVILLE, Long Island (WABC) – A New York City police officer has died in a suspected suicide, the fourth such death in the department this month.

Police say the off-duty officer was found dead late Wednesday at his home in Hicksville on Long Island.

It appeared the officer, a 24-year veteran who worked at a precinct in the Bronx, shot and killed himself inside his home.

"This is the fourth one that we've had recently, the sixth one this year," Chief of Department Terance Monahan said. "Coming forward when you need help is not going to make you lose your job. There are things in this agency that we're going to do. We're going to get you the help you need. I guarantee you, you're always going to be back on the street."

NYPD Commissioner James O'Neill has declared a mental health crisis in the department amid the recent spate of deaths by suicide.

He has sent messages reminding officers of available resources and urging them to seek help.

Deputy Chief Steven Silks was found dead in a police vehicle in Queens on June 5.

Detective Joseph Calabrese was found the next day at a Brooklyn beach.

Eight days later, 29-year-old officer Michael Caddy killed himself on Staten Island.

Police officials say that when a suicide occurs, the department immediately deploys grief counselors, as well as Chaplains Unit and Employee Assistance Unit professionals to provide continuous support.

Monahan has also put out videos calling for more discussion of mental health and drawing attending to the services available.

Murder-suicide in Ehrenberg

A man allegedly shot his wife and then himself in Ehrenberg Wednesday night, according to law enforcement.

“Upon arrival, we learned that Francisco Rodriguez Santos had allegedly shot his wife and then committed suicide by way of a self-inflicted gunshot wound,” said La Paz County Sheriff’s Captain Curt Bagby. “The victim was immediately transported to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. We don’t like to report suicides due to family privacy, however, we feel that we need to get this out because of all the misinformation that is already being circulated. We do not believe anyone else was involved in this matter and there aren’t any outstanding suspects that were involved. We would like to offer our sincerest condolences to the family.”

Late the same evening, local agencies were involved in a high-speed pursuit of an individual in a stolen vehicle, Bagby said.

“A La Paz County Deputy first spotted the vehicle south of Parker on Parker/Poston Road and alerted the Parker area Law Enforcement. A vehicle stop was initiated in the area of Airport Road and SR95, at which point the suspect evaded Law Enforcement and drove at a high rate of speed into the Up-River area(s). La Paz County Deputies later located the alleged suspect hiding at a local residence (Up-River), and took Damian Mejia into custody without further incident.”

Mejia is currently in the La Paz County Detention Facility awaiting his initial court appearance.

Attorney for Husband of Missing New Canaan Mom Contemplates 'Revenge Suicide' Theory

Fotis Dulos said his children are "constantly on my mind" while lawyer Norm Pattis said he is contemplating a "revenge suicide" explanation for Jennifer Dulos' disappearance

The estranged husband of missing New Canaan mother Jennifer Dulos was back in court today, fighting for custody of the couple's five children, and made a brief statement outside court.

“I just want to tell my children that they are constantly on my mind and that I love them and I miss them very much,” Fotis Dulos said outside court on Wednesday.

Fotis Dulos' attorney, Norm Pattis, also spoke outside court about the case.

"You heard us say today in court comments that Jennifer made to Mr. Dulos that give us great concern for her safety and well-being. We are actively contemplating a revenge suicide hypothesis explanation for her disappearance," Pattis said.

Fotis Dulos was already going through a divorce and custody dispute with Jennifer before she disappeared on May 24. On Wednesday, Fotis and his attorney were in Stamford Court for a status conference on the custody case.

Attorneys for Jennifer filed a motion to hold Fotis and his attorneys in criminal contempt, claiming they violated a court order by releasing information about evaluations done on the couple's children. It's information they said was supposed to be sealed.

Pattis said he believes they acted appropriately and filed his own motion to have the evaluations unsealed.

The filing goes on to request that Fotis and his attorneys be barred from divulging information from the custody evaluation to the media. It also asks that Fotis' attorneys be disqualified from representing him in any custody or criminal cases.

Pattis responded by writing in an email, "without commenting on the allegations in the counsel's motion, we contend we acted appropriately in the defense of our client."

Outside court before the status conference on Wednesday, Pattis said they have had no communication with the children.

On Monday, Fotis Dulos' lawyer claimed that Jennifer may have staged her disappearance like a character in the book "Gone Girl," citing a "very dark 500-page plus novel" that she had written.

That prompted a spokesperson for Jennifer's family, Carrie Luft, to dismiss the claim as "false and irresponsible allegations," saying that Jennifer's novel was written well before "Gone Girl" and was not a mystery tome.

"Evidence shows that Jennifer was the victim of a violent attack in her New Canaan home. As of today, she has been missing for a month," her family and friends said in a statement released Monday. "This is not fiction or a movie. This is real life, as experienced every single day by Jennifer’s five young children, her family, and her friends. We are heartbroken. Jennifer is not here to protect her children, and these false and irresponsible allegations hurt the children now and into the future."

Jennifer has been missing for over a month. According to court documents, when police searched her home, they found blood, and investigators believe she was the victim of a serious physical assault. Her disappearance is considered a missing persons case.

City surveillance cameras captured a man police said matched the appearance of Fotis throwing away bags of garbage along Albany Avenue in Hartford the day Jennifer disappeared, according to court documents.

Jennifer, who moved from Farmington to New Canaan after filing for divorce, was last seen while dropping off her children at school in New Canaan on Friday, May 24. Since Jennifer disappeared, her children have been living with her mother. Investigators have spent the better part of the last month searching for clues related to Jennifer's disappearance at locations all over the state.

Days after a businessman in his late 40s killed himself in Kerala's Kannur district, the state assembly was adjourned today after the Opposition raised slogans and rushed to the well of house, hitting out at the ruling Left over the suicide.

The family alleged that businessman Sajan Parayil killed himself because he couldn't open a convention centre he built in Kannur with his savings from working in Nigeria for over a decade due to the alleged inordinate delay in permissions. The family said the businessman had struggling to get permissions for over a year.

In protest, Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala announced his resignation from the post of vice chairman of the Loka Kerala Sabha, a body that aims to bring together people from Kerala living across the world under one platform.

"He kept pursuing officials who never co-operated. Sometimes he was told they are on leave. Sometimes other reasons were given… this continued for days. He was almost certain that he will not be given the permissions," the businessman's wife, Beena, told reporters.

Family says Pleasant Grove man committed suicide after going off pain meds too quickly

Speaking to a the Utah Health Reform Task Force earlier this month, Coombs outlined ideas to stop force-tapering in Utah. The Centers for Disease Control has admitted that 2016 guidelines on how to manage the opioid epidemic have been “misapplied” by the medical community, and said “abrupt tapering or sudden discontinuation of opioids” is discouraged.

Coombs says because of the negative conversation about certain pain medications, insurance companies are hesitant to cover it and doctors are reluctant to prescribe it, or are weaning patients off of it too abruptly.

Coombs worked with Utah lawmakers on a bill file surrounding this issue that is expected to be debated in the 2020 legislative session.

Eustis worker found dead at Ferran Park of apparent suicide

EUSTIS – A 39-year old city employee was found dead in a car at Ferran Park on Saturday night in an apparent suicide.

Officer Lauren Brown, spokesman for the Eustis Police Department, verified that Troy Licht was one of the city’s IT employees who also did work for the police department.

According to Brown, the Eustis PD received a call at 7:24 p.m. in reference to a suspicious person or incident involving a car parked at Ferran Park. Officers responded to the scene and upon arrival, found a dead body inside of a black Nissan. Brown said it appeared Licht had died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to an undisclosed part of the body.

5th New York City police officer dies by suicide since June

New York — A New York City police officer died by suicide over the weekend, marking the fifth police suicide in the city since June.

The officer was found dead in his Staten Island home on Saturday after shooting himself, according to The New York Times. A police union said the officer was a sergeant, but the individual has not yet been identified.

ABC News reported that the officer’s death was the seventh this year.

Police Commissioner James O’Neill referred to the situation as a “mental health crisis” following the third suicide in June, according to NBC News. He pleaded with officers to get help for any mental health issues they are facing.

“To every member of the NYPD, please know this: it is OK to feel vulnerable,” O’Neill said in a statement Saturday, according to NBC. “It is OK if you are facing struggles. And it is OK to seek help from others. You may not know this, and it may be hard to imagine, but you are not out there all by yourself.”

More police officers die by suicide every year in New York City than are killed in the line of duty, according to the Times. It's an average of five each year since 2014.

Last year, 167 officers died by suicide nationwide. That’s 9 percent more than the number who died in the line of duty, according to CBS News.
