There was a picture on TV of the blue equipment that dropped onto the bridge when the hook on the crane's cable gave way. The heavy equipment fell onto the bridge causing the collapse. As far as conspiracy goes: 1) a stress test should not have been done with traffic underneath; 2) the crane operator or someone who attached a defective hook to attach to the blue equipment could have been complicit.
