Cotton: Iranian Actions in Persian Gulf Warrant a ‘Retaliatory Military Strike’

Sunday on CBS’ “Face the Nation,” Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) said the recent attacks on oil tankers in the Middle East by Iran “warrant a retaliatory military strike.”

BRENNAN, HOST OF CBS’S “FACE THE NATION”: We turn now to Arkansas Republican Senator Tom Cotton. In addition to serving on the Intelligence and Armed Services committees, he has also written a new book called, “Sacred Duty: A Soldier’s Tour at Arlington National Cemetery.” Good morning and Happy Father’s Day, senator.

COTTON: Good morning, Margaret. Thanks for having me on.

BRENNAN: You have long been defined as a hawk on Iran. You see these recent attacks, these are commercial vessels not military installations. What kind of response is warranted?

COTTON: Well Iran for 40 years has engaged in this kind of attacks going back to the 1980s. In fact Ronald Reagan had to reflag a lot of vessels going through the Persian Gulf and ultimately take military action against Iran in 1988. These unprovoked attacks on commercial shipping warrant a retaliatory military strike.

BRENNAN: Are you- you’re comparing the tanker war in the 80s to now and saying that that’s the kind of military response you want to see?

COTTON: We can make a military wreck- response in a time and in a manner of our choosing. But yes, unprovoked attacks on commercial shipping warrant a retaliatory military strike against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

BRENNAN: A retaliatory strike? When we had Secretary Pompeo on just a few moments ago, he said the U.S. always has the authorization to defend American interests. As someone who sits in Congress, do you believe that he can act- the administration can act without coming to Congress first?

COTTON: Yes, Margaret. Going back to President Washington and all the way down to President Trump, the fastest way to get the fire and fury of the U.S. military unleashed on you is to interfere with the freedom of navigation on the open seas and in the air. That’s exactly what Iran is doing in one of the world’s most important strategic choke points. The president has the authorization to act to defend American interests. Certainly, he- it would be in keeping with what President Obama did unwisely in Libya in 2011 in launching a weeks long campaign to overthrow the government there. What I’m talking about is not like what we’ve seen in Iraq for the last 16 years or Afghanistan for the last 18 years. But retaliatory military strikes against Iran that make it clear we will not tolerate any kind of attacks on commercial shipping on the open seas.

BRENNAN: So you believe that the existing authorization for military force is sufficient? You’ve also said, though, and as someone who served in Iraq, you have an appreciation for the need to be careful in parsing intelligence and in first reports. How do you convince the American people that they need to stomach something, in terms of a potential strike, that you’re describing as somewhat easy to carry out, when there were such vast underestimations of what U.S. force would bring about in Iraq and elsewhere in the past?

COTTON: Margaret, those are two very different things. In 2002, our intelligence agencies, just like every Western intelligence agency, was trying to assess the state of a weapons of mass destruction program, one of the things that states worked the hardest to keep secret. There’s really not much to assess right here. Everybody can see with their own two eyes, those Iranian sailors going up to a ship and taking a mine off of it. Iranian sailors, ultimately boarded and height- and took hostage the crew of one of those ships that they just released yesterday. They tried to shoot down one of our surveillance aircrafts over the Persian Gulf as we were simply trying to monitor what had happened there.

As you heard Secretary Pompeo have said, they’ve increased their support on attacks on American troops by supporting a Taliban attack in Afghanistan, just like they killed five hundred Americans in the Iraq war. So there’s no doubt here what Iran is up to. They are struggling under the sanctions that we have placed on them. The status quo for them is unacceptable. They’re hoping that they can drive up the price of oil and therefore benefit from it, since their oil exports have declined so much. And also, get more pressure put on the United States to back off our campaign of maximum pressure. That’s not going to happen. If anything, we need to increase that pressure and I think this unprovoked attack on commercial shipping warrants retaliatory military strikes.

Study Shows Growing Hemp is a Powerful Tool to Fight Bee Population Decline

Researchers at Colorado State University have found that cultivating hemp will be a crucial tool in fighting the dangerous decline in the bee population.

As the world population of honeybees continues to decline at a dangerous rate, a new study from Colorado State University purports to have found the answer to quell the decline—hemp. The reason hemp is such a boon to the bee population is simple, it is a great source of pollen.

Because the hemp plant provides such a massive amount of pollen, it will provide them with the resources they need to sustain and grow their populations.

As Forbes points out:

According to researchers, most hemp crops flower between July and September, coinciding with a lack of pollen production from other farm crops.

Over 2,000 bees (and 23 different types of bee, including the European honeybee) were collected during the study. The 23 bee types represent 80% of all types in the region.

This discovery points to hemp as a new pollen source for bees and could help sustain their populations.

Bee colonies have been declining in the U.S. due to stressors such as pests, pesticide exposure and poor nutrition from a lack of pollen, according to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Researchers noted that although “hemp does not produce any nectar, the pollen rich nature of the flowers can make hemp an ecologically valuable crop.” However, they also noted that as “cultivation of hemp continues to expand, we expect insect pests on hemp to also become prevalent. Our results documenting bee diversity in flowering hemp provides the impetus for the development of integrated pest management plans that protect pollinators while controlling pests.”

As TFTP reported last year, another study showed that mushrooms could have a powerful effect on bees by helping them combat the viruses that have been killing their colonies.

According to the results of this study, which was titled “Extracts of Polypore Mushroom Mycelia Reduces Viruses in Honey Bees,” researchers were looking for a way to combat the highly infectious viruses that were wiping out global honey bee populations, and they started looking at mushrooms when they noticed bees were seeking out the fungus:

“Bees have been observed foraging on mushroom mycelium, suggesting that they may be deriving medicinal or nutritional value from fungi. Fungi are known to produce a wide array of chemicals with antimicrobial activity, including compounds active against bacteria, other fungi, or viruses. We tested extracts from the mycelium of multiple polypore fungal species known to have antiviral properties.”

Netanyahu’s wife convicted for misusing public funds after racking up $50k in catering bills

Sara Netanyahu’s lawyer has accused her embattled husband’s political opponents of orchestrating a case against his client after she was convicted of using public money to order food to the prime minister’s residence.

The judge in a Jerusalem court ordered Sara Netanyahu to pay NIS 55,000 ($15,210) as a fine and compensation on Sunday, after she had agreed to a plea deal four days earlier. Sara, the third wife of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, was initially indicted for spending $100,000 in state funds on luxurious meals from the country’s top restaurants between 2010 and 2013. Such expenses are forbidden, as she had already been allocated a full-time chef at the residence – something she reportedly misrepresented to internal auditors when filing her expenses. The size of the alleged overspend was slashed to $50,000 this week, though she will not have to pay back even the reduced amount in full, unless the state pursues a separate civil case.

Despite voluntarily admitting her misdemeanor, Sara Netanyahu presented herself as the victim at the hearing, saying she’d “suffered enough” during the humiliating case, in which a senior residence official is also expected to plead guilty.

Her lawyer, Yossi Cohen, told the court in his closing statement that the investigation was a means of targeting her husband, who is facing an election in September.

“This is one of the most severe and hurtful punishments that a person I know has received. This is the result of four years of ugly, tendentious, libelous leaks that spilled my client’s blood. They forgot she is also a mother, a wife,” said Cohen.

“I stood here astonished at the lengths our society is willing to go to hurt a person,” he continued. “And of course nobody wanted to hurt Mrs Netanyahu. The goal was to hurt her husband, topple the government.”

Defense Secretary Jim Mattis had a secret meeting with a top Amazon cloud sales executive in 2017 before the Pentagon announced a $10 billion cloud computing contract that critics say was designed to be fulfilled only by Amazon, Fox News' Tucker Carlson reported on Friday.Earlier this month, The Intercept reported:

Amazon Web Services and Microsoft are now the two finalists to win the highly contested $10 billion contract for what is known as the Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure, or JEDI. The deal, one of the largest federal contracts in U.S. history, would pay one company to provide cloud computing services in support of Defense Department operations around the world.

The Intercept further noted that there are allegations that former DOD official Deap Ubhi, who left to work for Amazon in 2017, "worked on the preliminary research for the JEDI program in the late summer and fall of 2017" and was "also engaged in a secret job negotiation with Amazon for months, complete with salary discussions, offers of signing bonuses, and lucrative stock options."

During his program on Friday, Carlson reported:

Well, the Department of Defense exists to protect America from foreign threats and does a great job with that, thank God, but it's also a massive consumer of tax dollars, the biggest really. And for that reason, concerns about corruption are always there. There's reason to believe that over the past couple of years some at the Pentagon have worked to enrich Amazon, already the world's richest company. In 2017, the Pentagon announced a $10 billion cloud computing contract. According to critics, the contract wasn't actually competitive, it was designed from the very start to be fulfilled by Amazon and only by Amazon.

Several of Defense Secretary Jim Mattis' aides had prior professional ties to Amazon. A key official working on the Pentagon's cloud computing program was carrying out secret job negotiations with Amazon even as he worked on the Pentagon's program. And we can report exclusively tonight on this program that in March 2017, before the cloud computing contract was announced, Secretary Mattis had a secret dinner in London with Amazon's top cloud sales executive, Teresa Carlson (emphasis added).

A source told The Daily Wire that Carlson referred to Mattis' dinner with the Amazon official as "secret" because Teresa Carlson's name was redacted from itinerary records, which were later unredacted.

The best general definition is: A period of time when most people’s standard of living drops significantly. By that definition, the Greater Depression started in 2008, although historians may someday say it began in 1971, when real wages started falling.

It’s also a period of time when distortions and misallocations of capital are liquidated, and when the business cycle, which is caused exclusively by currency debasement, also known as inflation, climaxes. That results in high unemployment, business failures, uncompleted construction, bond defaults, stock market crashes, and the like.

Fortunately, for those who benefit from the status quo, and members of something called the Deep State, the trillions of new currency units delayed the liquidation. But they also ensured it will now happen on a much grander scale.

The Deep State is an extremely powerful network that controls nearly everything around you. You won’t read about it in the news because it controls the news. Politicians won’t talk about it publicly. That would be like a mobster discussing murder and robbery on the 6 o’clock news. You could say the Deep State is hidden, but it’s only hidden in plain sight.

The Deep State is the source of every negative thing that’s happening right now. To survive the coming rough times, it’s essential for you to know what it’s all about.

Cops Refused to Fulfill City’s Illegal Ticket Quota, So City Council Fired Entire Department

A police department told city officials they were tired of extorting citizens by being forced to write tickets, so city officials fired all of them.

Ridgetop, TN — The town of Ridgetop, Tenn. made a rather substantial move this week in an attempt to save money, so they dissolved the entire police department. The decision to fire all the cops happened on Monday night, and yet the town has not yet descended into utter chaos. Imagine that.

The decision to dissolve the department happened Monday during a special-called meeting to decide how to save money after controversy arose about writing tickets.

“It was all budget,” said Ridgetop Mayor Tony Reasoner. “We can’t afford it. Hopefully, and I’m going to float this idea with the board, but I think we need a 4-5 member board of citizens to come up with ideas on our future. Do we need a full-time or a part-time police department, or do we let the sheriff … cover it?”

According to the Tennessean:

The Ridgetop police department had a budget of $429,000, said Reasoner, who also serves as the city’s fire chief. He’s been with the city since 1989.

The police budget included revenues of $258,000, mostly from ticket writing, but Reasoner said that figure had been steady since 2006, when it jumped up from $120,000.

“The department wrote six tickets in May, but the chief (Bryan Morris) kept saying he could keep a fully-staffed force for $289,000,” Reasoner said. “We told him we had $129,000 in the budget because we couldn’t count revenues from tickets.

“We never heard anything else.”

Showing exactly how this corrupt system functions is the fact that, according to a secret recording, city officials were apparently unhappy that the department wasn’t writing enough tickets.

Clearly proving the point that they care not about the ostensible safety of their citizens — and instead only money — the council voted to fire the entire department.

California Goes Off the Deep End as Inmates Gain Right To Possess Marijuana in Prison

California’s nickname has long been “The Golden State,” but it might be time to re-name it “The Land of Unintended Consequences.”

The increasingly liberal state has already run into problems with its past choices, many of which seem great on paper — to the left, at least — until they’re actually put into practice.

Sanctuary policies are a good example: They made west coast liberals feel good but lead to rampant homelessness and poverty.

Now, yet another bright idea out of California is having unintended consequences. A court in the state has just ruled that the 2016 recreational marijuana law passed there applies to everyone, meaning that even prison inmates must be legally allowed to possess pot.

“The 3rd District Court of Appeal’s 20-page ruling says the state’s voters legalized recreational possession of less than an ounce of cannabis in 2016, with no exception — even for those behind bars,” Fox News reported on Friday.

That’s good news for one group: prisoners who were facing added jail time because they got caught with drugs in the joint, if you’ll pardon the pun.

“The decision Tuesday overturned the Sacramento County convictions of five inmates who’d been found with marijuana in their prison cells,” Fox News continued.

The legal landscape around marijuana was already a mess, but it’s even more convoluted for people who are serving time. California’s cannabis law neglected to prohibit possession by inmates, and one of the core judicial concepts in America is that anything not prohibited is de facto legal.

“According to the plain language of…Proposition 64, possession of less than an ounce of cannabis in prison is no longer a felony,” wrote the court panel of three judges who ruled on the issue.

But it gets complicated. “Smoking or ingesting cannabis in prison remains a felony,” they added.

In other words: Marijuana is federally illegal, but legal in California, including in prison, but illegal to actually consume behind bars. Are you taking notes?

As if the issue wasn’t murky enough, authorities also say that prisons can make it a rules violation to possess marijuana, just like other contraband. So a prisoner with a joint may still face prison-level consequences, but effectively can’t be charged with a new crime.

“[P]ossession can still be punished as a rule violation by the California Department of Corrections,” confirmed The Mercury News. “But if inmates wants to keep a jar of weed next to their bunk, the district attorney can’t file charges, according to the ruling.”

In a twist, some defenders of the ruling tried to make a libertarian and fiscal conservative argument to back it up.

“[T]his ruling will prevent inmates from having years added to their sentences for simple possession, reducing overcrowding and saving $50,000-75,000 a year in unnecessary costs,” Assistant Public Defender David Lynch told The Associated Press.

Maybe. But it seems likely that the question of weed possession in prison was completely overlooked when the recreational marijuana law was drafted, and the entire convoluted situation could have been avoided with one additional paragraph of clarification.

This raises real questions about where the line should be when it comes to extending the comforts of home into prisons. A jail sentence is supposed to be a punishment, after all.

Shrugging and going “whatever, keep your drugs” is just a stone’s throw away from turning the big house into a frat house, so comfortable that it stops being any kind of deterrent. Maybe they’d like a PlayStation and some snacks to go with it?

The real takeaway, though, is probably the ineffectiveness and foolishness of endless big government. Relying on bureaucracy to “fix” something is a fool’s errand, often creating a dozen more problems instead of improving anything. California is becoming the perfect example of that, and it’s happening right before our eyes.

In the New York Times, David Sanger, a generally unreliable reporter in my opinion, released what a person with my quarter century of experience in Washington would regard as sensitive national security information when he reported that Washington was puting malware into the Russian electrical grid. Who leaked this sensitive national security information? Why aren’t they being arrested and prosecuted for leaking to a reporter? Why isn’t Sanger himself, like Julian Assange, arrested for trumped-up reasons? It makes no sense to give to Russia the information in public disclosure as that allows Russia to find and eliminate the malware. As it makes no sense, it raises the question whether Sanger’s story is correct or merely something handed to him by the NSA which wants to polish its image before it becomes a victim along with Brennan and Comey and Hillary in the attempted Russiagate frameup of President Trump.

Sanger’s story loses all credibility when he repeats the disproven allegation that “Russia’s Internet Research Agency [is] the group at the heart of the hacking during the 2016 election in the United States. It was one of four operations his so-called Russia Small Group organized around the midterm elections. Officials have talked publicly about those, though they have provided few details.”

Ray McGovern, William Binney and other retired intelligence professionals have proven conclusively that there was no hacking. The information revealed by Wikileaks was a leak from inside the Democratic National Committee.

How is it possible that David Sanger doesn’t know this? How can his New York Times editor not know this?

Britain ‘almost certain’ Iran was behind tanker attacks, says foreign minister Hunt

Foreign minister Jeremy Hunt said on Sunday Britain is “almost certain” Iran was behind attacks on oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman, adding that London did not believe anyone else could have done it, Reuters reports.

On Saturday, Iran summoned the British ambassador to Tehran after London blamed it for the attacks, the semi-official Students News Agency ISNA reported.

Asked whether Iran was behind the attacks on the tankers, Hunt told the BBC’s Andrew Marr show: “We have done our own intelligence assessment and the phrase we used is almost certain … We don’t believe anyone else could have done this.”

“We are urging all sides to de-escalate.”

‘Never before’: MILLIONS could be without light as Argentina & Uruguay hit by nationwide blackouts

Entire cities descended into darkness as a massive, first-of-its-kind blackout swept across Argentina and Uruguay on Sunday morning. The unexplained calamity will take up to eight hours to fix, officials say.

Argentina suffered a “nationwide” blackout, which also affected neighboring Uruguay, Alejandra Martinez, a spokesperson for the Buenos Aires-based electricity supplier company Edesur, told local media. “Something like this has never happened before,” she said.

The company had earlier explained that the massive power outage happened due to a failure in the electrical interconnection system. The blackout itself started at 7:07am local time on Sunday, according to Argentinian officials.

Independence, Missouri, City Council Adopts Ordinance Prohibiting AMI Smart Meters June 3, 2019

Bang the timpani drums and clang the brass cymbals! One municipality finally was able to get an ordinance passed that prohibits AMI Smart Meters from being installed anywhere within the city limits.

The City of Independence, Missouri, did the right thing for all its residents!

19-031 – 2R. An ordinance prohibiting the City from installing Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), entering into a contract for the purposes of installing AMI and voiding any contracts entered into as a result of the approval of Non-Ordinance Action Item No. 2 approved on April 1, 2019.

The City of Independence including the Mayor, City Council, City Manager, City Employees, and or anyone on their behalf shall be prohibited from installing AMI, also known as Smart meters at any location within the city limits of Independence or on any customer of municipally owned utility known as Independence Power and Light, and shall be prohibited from entering into a contract with any entity for the purposes of installing AMI, also known as Smart meters at any location within the city limits of Independence or on any customer of municipally owned utility known as Independence Power and Light.

Citizens of Independence went to extraordinary means to get the above ordinance passed. They were more than furious and began a campaign that proved not only effective, but produced their objective:

No AMI Smart Meters!

At one regular City Council meeting, residents jammed the meeting carrying signs and flip-flops, saying the council was the “flip-flop council.” Then something very interesting happened. An initiative referendum, which required 3,000 signatures to qualify for the voters’ ballot, was proposed. However, when all the petitions were handed in, there were 5,035 signatures certified by the Election Board.

That presented a fiscal problem, since the city council discussed the expense of putting the referendum on the ballot for a community vote.

Then the obvious sensible approach was taken since, under city rules, council was required to take one of two measures: 1) Either put it on the ballot; or 2) adopt the language of the initiative as an ordinance.

On June 3, 2019, the Independence city council adopted the initiative language thereby prohibiting Smart Meters and avoiding the AMI contract on a 6 to 1 vote, with Curt Dougherty as the only opposing vote.

Now, why can’t other municipalities do the same, since nowhere are AMI Smart Meters mandated by The Energy Policy Act of 2005, Public Law 109-58, §1252 Smart Metering!

Mark is incapable of running a McDonald's, let alone one of the most powerful companies in the world. Not even his name is real and his identity has always been covered up. Mark was chosen as child for a CIA training program because his relatives were some of the people creating the program.

I am not making excuses for Mark, but his choices have not been his own. You might think that a madman who could think he could become president - because he "said so" - would be discovered and accused as a fraud. Well, that has happened repeatedly with the other three teams that were working at Harvard, under Harvard president Larry Summers, to create what DARPA and In-Q-Tel wanted the most - a cyber-weapon that could control the minds of anyone that could be lured into it.

Facebook was always a military weapon - just like Eric Schmidt's Google which was incubated in the same fashion that Facebook was. Mark was a patsy, but a ruthless, heartless, cold-blooded non-human patsy. He became this way through the brain-washing he received in his High School years by a DARPA program called TIA that needed a "boy-genius" to be the front man. This scam would make Mark into a global model of the young, cool, irreverent computer geniuses that "rule the world" and lead everyone to a cyber-god of artificial intelligence. "Mark has become, over the years, no friend of America. In fact, he hates America and rants on about how proud he is to avoid U. S. taxes and to cheat the American people - whom he considers to be animals.

Mark believes he is a higher being - above human beings. He now believes it was all his work that made Facebook. He is completely deluded by his own propaganda, which is nothing but lies. Mark was shocked when he received an acceptance letter from Harvard, before he had applied. No test scores, interviews, or pre-requisites were required. His government "programming" had made his acceptance a given. Harvard wanted Mark, and Mark did what he was told. So, when the president of Harvard, Larry Summers, called Mark into his office early in his freshman year, Mark was not so surprised. He knew he would have to pay the piper. Summers asked Mark to start a group to work on the social media project - a supposed competition among teachers and students to win a government contract.

The ostensible goal was to create a social directory and Harvard where people could share in small groups. The real intent was to create a social network to manipulate the world. Mark liked the idea but was too lazy to do anything about it. He stuck his nose into the others' camps to see what they were doing, but he himself just talked about it with good programmers and made them promises–thus, numerous lawsuits ensued from those promises.

Larry Summers, left, continued to call Mark into his office for updates, so Mark just lied. Occasionally, others would be in the office with Larry Summers, but one person stood out and showed up at many more meetings in the future. This man was obviously the person in charge of this project. His name was a former Harvard Law Professor James Chandler. He boasted that he was one of the top idea people for DARPA and that he had actually developed lower level programming languages for the Army. He pretended to be interested in me, but I could tell that was a political act. Guys like me can just sense these things.

Over time, it came out that Summers and Chandler had much bigger plans for the social media project and had some outside sources of help to complete the project. Mark found it odd that Summers, Chandler, and eventually Sheryl Sandberg did not put much pressure on Mark to produce but were interested in everything Mark was learning from spying on the other groups for almost two years.

One day, Mark was called to Summers office in Massachusetts Hall to meet a most unusual man. His name was Andrew Marshall and he was the head of the Naval Intelligence Net Assessment Office. Mark was terrified of Marshall from the beginning. Marshall had Mark sign a government secrecy agreement, and other security agreements before he told Mark the ultimate military nature of what the Harvard Facebook project entailed. Mark, and Harvard, were simply being used as incubation think tanks as a cover for a military project that needed a corporate face. Professor Chandler said he had discovered the source code that would accomplish the seemingly impossible task of making a social directory "scalable" to billions of people.

Chandler droned on as Harvard professors like to do about how Harvard academic elites were the best choices to do the early testing because of their superior intellects. He explained that this scalability dilemma was not being solved by the military's usual Microsoft, IBM and Oracle go-to military intelligence suppliers for reasons that were over my head. He said they had found a company who had solved the problem but was not willing to be used by the military as a black-ops project against Americans and the rest of the world.

Chandler and Summers had selected Mark as their front-man to lie and claim that he had written the source code for scalability. Chandler explained that the government had seized the source code from an inventor and his company for use in the DARPA Harvard Facebook project. He explained in very flowery intellectual property theft language that Mark may get sued by the inventor, but that DARPA would shield him. Mark told them he was willing to take that chance……

Facebook’s Secret “Hate Agent” Formula Leaked by Insider

An internal Facebook document reveals that the social media giant monitors its users’ offline behavior as part of how the company determines whether a person should be classified as a “Hate Agent,” according to Breitbart’s Allum Bokhari who has reviewed the document.

Titled “Hate Agent Policy Review,” the document reveals that Facebook employs a series of “signals” which include a person’s behavior both on and off the platform. Once determined to be a “hate agent,” a person is banned from the platform.

If you praise the wrong individual, interview them, or appear at events alongside them, Facebook may categorize you as a “hate agent.”

Facebook may also categorize you as a hate agent if you self-identify with or advocate for a “Designated Hateful Ideology,” if you associate with a “Designated Hate Entity” (one of the examples cited by Facebook as a “hate entity” includes Islam critic Tommy Robinson), or if you have “tattoos of hate symbols or hate slogans.” (The document cites no examples of these, but the media and “anti-racism” advocacy groups increasingly label innocuous items as “hate symbols,” including a cartoon frog and the “OK” hand sign.)

Facebook will also categorize you as a hate agent for possession of “hate paraphernalia,” although the document provides no examples of what falls into this category. –Breitbart

Facebook may even brand someone a hate agent for “statements made in private but later made public,” according to the report.

Bokhari also notes from his previous reports that Facebook categorized right-wing pundit Paul Joseph Watson as “hateful” in part because he interviewed British activist Tommy Robinson on his YouTube channel. Similarly, prominent conservatives Candace Owens and Brigitte Gabriel are on the list, along with UK politicians Marie Waters and Carl Benjamin.

The Benjamin addition reveals that Facebook may categorize you as a hate agent merely for speaking neutrally about individuals and organizations that the social network considers hateful. In the document, Facebook tags Benjamin with a “hate agent” signal for “neutral representation of John Kinsman, member of Proud Boys” on October 21 last year.

Facebook also accuses Benjamin, a classical liberal and critic of identity politics, as “representing the ideology of an ethnostate” for a post in which he calls out an actual advocate of an ethnostate. –Breitbart

Israel Folau launches new attack on gays, transgender youths in church sermon

Israel Folau has launched another attack on gay people and also criticised young people being allowed to change gender during a sermon at his Sydney church.

The former rugby union star described homosexuality as a sin and claimed the devil was behind primary school children being allowed to decide if they wanted to change gender.

"This is what the devil is trying to do, to instil into the government, into this world, into society, and it is slowly happening," Folau said in his Sunday sermon at The Truth of Jesus Christ Church in Kenthurst.

"The sad thing is why a lot of people out there that are non-Christians say bad things about the church, is because a lot of the churches allow those things to happen.

"They say that a man and a man should be able to be married and there is nothing wrong with it. This buys into the theme of pleasing man rather than pleasing God and standing up for the truth."

The 30-year-old's rant was posted on the church's Facebook page.

Folau also criticised modern "westernised" churches and said true believers in Christ "profess him wherever we go".

"Are we too scared because we might be cast out by our workplace or cast out of somewhere because we're not liked or loved by those around us and don't believe the same thing we do?" he asked.

"You might be the only born-again Christian in that workplace, you might feel a bit awkward with your co-workers because they are in the world and you're not. We should feel blessed … because God has called us."

The former Wallaby's $5 million Rugby Australia contract was torn up last month after he refused to take down an Instagram post which quoted bible scripture and said "hell awaits" homosexuals and other sinners.

Folau has launched legal proceedings with the Fair Work Commission against Rugby Australia and is seeking up to $10 million in damages.

Greenblatt: Trump can run for reelection and push peace plan at same time

He discussed the timeline to roll out the political component of the peace plan and said it might be postponed until a new government in Israel is formed, around November 6.

NEW YORK – Jason Greenblatt, US President Donald Trump’s special envoy for international negotiations, said at the Jerusalem Post Annual Conference in New York that he agrees with the comments of Ambassador David Friedman, who said last week that Israel has the right to annex parts of the West Bank.

“I support his comment,” Greenblatt said. “I will let David’s comment stand for itself.”

He discussed the timeline to roll out the political component of the peace plan and said it might be postponed until a new government in Israel is formed, around November 6. He added that after the late delay in rolling out the plan due to Israel’s April election, the Trump administration would not lay out in advance a specific timeline.

“Now we are focusing on [the] Bahrain [workshop],” he added.

Asked by The Jerusalem Post’s editor-in-chief, Yaakov Katz, if releasing a plan during an election year is possible, Greenblatt said that the president “can do a lot of things [at the same time]. We don’t think that elections campaign could stop the progress.” He added that Trump “is absolutely involved” in the process.

He addressed the upcoming economic workshop in Bahrain and said: “Saeb Erekat and others are distorting our message. They’re saying essentially that the Bahrain conference is about buying the Palestinians off. Absolutely not true.”

“The Bahrain summit is aimed to show what could happen to the Palestinian economy if there’s a peace agreement,” he continued. “We understand completely that there is no economic vision that’ll work without a peace agreement. But we also want to make the point that there will be no peace agreement that works without true economic vision. We’re trying to break the cycle of aid and dependency and create an economy. They work hand in hand.”

He refused to share specific details from the plan and explained: “We hold something very delicate in our hands. If we keep a tight lid on it, we increase chances of success.”

Greenblatt addressed the disengagement between the Trump administration and the Palestinians that there are two kinds of Palestinians. The first, he said, is the Palestinian leadership, “which we engaged with throughout 2017 and we pretty much went as far as we were able to go with them by the time of the Jerusalem announcement.”

“I think that the Palestinian leadership negotiating style is such that they explain what they want and they’re unwilling to engage beyond that,” he added. “And that doesn’t mean they’re not going to compromise, but they have a certain style of negotiation. So, if anybody says we did not engage with the Palestinian Authority – we did for a year. We understand all of their wishes, their desires and their methods.”

He added that for the past three years, he and Jared Kushner had many conversations with Palestinians. “Palestinians, who I don’t want to pretend for a second do not desire many of the things their leadership wants,” he said. “They don’t come to my office and thank me for the Jerusalem announcement, obviously. They explain what they’re looking for in terms of the state, in terms of other desires, but they’re grateful that the president is focused on this. They want a better future.

“They’re frustrated terribly with their leadership,” Greenblatt continued. “The problem is when they leave my office, they say, ‘please don’t tweet that I was there.’ And that’s unfortunate. But I respect that.”

Greenblatt stressed that the US does not seek to interfere in the Palestinian political process.

“We are not looking for a regime change, and we understand that there’s leadership there that gets to make decisions,” he said. “Whether there should be a new election or not, I’ll stay out of the politics of the Palestinian Authority, but there’s no question that the people deserve to see what’s in the plan and decide for themselves whether it’s for them, whether they want to do this or don’t want to do this. The same is true of the Israeli public.”

Southern Baptist pastor in Harris County arrested for abuse of child

A former pastor of a Southern Baptist church in north Harris County faces charges of molesting a teenage relative, sometimes multiple times a day, over the course of two years, court records show.

Stephen Bratton, who resigned from Grace Family Baptist Church in Cypress Station last month, was charged Friday with continuous sexual abuse of a child, Senior Deputy Thomas Gilliland said Saturday. The 43-year-old is accused of inappropriate touching that escalated to “sexual intercourse multiple times a day or several times a week” from 2013 to 2015, Gilliland said.

He posted $50,000 bond and has been released from the Harris County Jail.

Bratton has been an outspoken pro-life advocate, making national news recently for supporting a failed bill that would have made it possible to criminally charge women who terminate their pregnancies.

Bratton came forward to his wife about the abuse on May 15, according to a probable cause document. She called his co-pastors at 4 a.m. to organize a meeting, while Bratton contacted them later that day to say he had “sinned in grievous ways.”

“It was criminal,” said David Shiflet, pastor of the Grace Family Baptist Church in Conroe. “That’s when he came clean.”

The criminal investigation began on May 16 after Bratton allegedly confessed to three Southern Baptist clergy members that he abused the child. Two of Bratton’s co-pastors, Aaron Wright and Erin Frye, met with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office at their church on Bammel Westfield Road that same day, while Shiflet said he referred the complaint to the Department of Family Protective Services.

A full-fledged meeting between the Russian and US Presidents, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, in the framework of the G20 summit in Japan’s Osaka may be prepared by the leaders’ teams even on the eve of this event, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Sunday.

Speaking in an interview with the program "Moscow. Kremlin. Putin" on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, Peskov noted that if the two presidents meet "on the go" they won’t manage to discuss the whole range of issues on the bilateral agenda.

"This [the meeting’s organization] may happen even on the eve of the G20’s beginning," Peskov said.

In comment on Trump’s earlier statement on his readiness to meet with the Chinese and Russian sides and other countries at the G20 summit, Peskov said the US leader probably meant brief meetings. "They won’t manage [to discuss] the amount of issues, which they need to discuss and what is indeed on the agenda," he noted.

Putin and Trump were expected to meet on the sidelines of the previous Group of Twenty summit, in Argentina last December, but the US president cancelled it literally a day before the agreed date. Following this move, the Russian side said it was ready for dialogue with the United States but on conditions that such a contact was initiated by Washington.

Earlier this week, Kremlin Aide Yuri Ushakov told journalists that the idea of a possible Putin-Trump meeting on the sidelines of the Group of Twenty summit was up in the air, as "after outlining this idea, the US side has not yet specified it."

At a meeting with President Putin in Sochi on May 14, US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo spoke about potential readiness to organize such a meeting. However, no official US request has been ever issued.

The Group of Twenty summit will be held in Osaka, Japan, on June 27-28.

David Goldberg found dead in his New York apartment.

David E. Goldberg was found dead in his New York apartment on June 8th. The death is being investigated, but at this time, authorities have given no indication as to the cause of death.

He was 59.

Friends of Mr. Goldberg were given access to his accounts before his passing. They will be maintaining them, and posting new information as it comes in.

At this time, they are reviewing many documents in Mr. Goldberg's possession, some of which appear to be top secret government documents.

US Military Intelligence Accuses Russia of Nuclear Testing

DIA provides no evidence of accusation

US military intelligence agency the DIA has issued a new statement directly accusing the Russian government of conducting low-yield nuclear tests in the course of developing more advanced nuclear arms.

This is the second time the DIA has suggested Russia was conducting nuclear tests in the past month. The statement today, as with the previous one, came with no evidence that any such testing ever took place.

Russia’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement condemning the US allegations as a “crude provocation,” saying that the allegations are groundless. It is unlikely that Russia would need to carry out nuclear tests in 2019, as generations of nuclear weapons development put them in a position that makes them more than capable of making such arms.

As one Russian MP pointed out last time the DIA made such an accusation, nuclear tests aren’t exactly secret. There is a huge global array of seismic devices that would immediately detect any nuclear tests carried out, and no such tests have been detected in Russia.

Russia Slams CBS News For Cooperating With Syrian Al-Qaeda In Idlib

The Russian embassy in Syria has slammed CBS News for sending its reporters into Idlib province, which is controlled by the al-Qaeda group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), at a moment of a stepped up joint Russian-Syrian aerial assault campaign over the northwestern territory.

Over the weekend the embassy tweeted of the CBS team’s reporting from Idlib: CBS News crew + a “white helmet” (not wearing one, apparently) = another act of media warfare in the making.

Note the “dress code” the female CBS correspondent has apparently willingly donned.

Both Moscow and Damascus have long accused US and western media correspondents of essentially giving terror groups operating inside Syria a major platform to air their propaganda, including claims of chemical weapons attacks. Russia as well as some western commentators have also described the White Helmets as essentially “the rescue wing of al-Qaeda”.

As some Middle East analysts were quick to point out, the CBS crew would have had to receive permission from HTS/al-Qaeda to be in Idlib in the first place. The Russian embassy accusation that CBS is engaged in “an act of media warfare” seems geared toward that fact.

A number of American journalists, including the Washington Post’s Liz Sly were outraged, noting that the CBS crew was “on the ground” to report “on the Russian-Syrian offensive there”.

However, it remains that HTS and thus Idlib province itself, is under the military control of none other Syrian al-Qaeda leader Abu Muhammad al-Jolani.

In 2017 the US State Department offered a ten million dollar bounty for information leading to Jolani’s whereabouts or capture, based on his US Treasury listing as a “Specially Designated Global Terrorist” – also featured on the FBI’s wanted list.

Interestingly, we wonder… less than two decades after 9/11 are major US news networks asking the head of al-Qaeda’s most powerful branch permission to enter AQ territory in cooperation with its “rebel” fighters on the ground? It appears so.
