Mexico violence: Journalist Norma Sarabia shot dead in Tabasco

A crime journalist has been murdered in south-east Mexico, local media report, the sixth reporter to be killed in the country this year.

Two masked men on a motorbike shot Norma Sarabia several times outside her home in Tabasco state, newspaper Tabasco Hoy reported.

She had worked for the outlet for 15 years, most recently as a correspondent in the city of Huimanguillo.

Pregnant woman killed — but her baby survives shooting, Asheville police say

A pregnant 24-year-old woman was shot multiple times at an apartment complex in Asheville, North Carolina, before midnight Wednesday, police say.

TUCSON, AZ — U.S. Customs and Border Protection says an Indian child was found dead in the desert near Lukeville on Thursday morning.

Officials say the child, believed to be a 7-year-old girl from India, was traveling with four others when they were dropped by human smugglers.

Tarrant County Deputy Had Medical Emergency, Which Led to Death; Sheriff

The Tarrant County medical examiner's office determined that Sgt. Keith Shepherd suffered a pulmonary embolism. After falling, he was able to make it back to his own car where he was found Friday evening by colleagues who searched for him when he didn't return from his break during a shift at the county jail.

"It appears that he fell and had some trauma to the head and was able to slightly recover from that long enough to get in his car where where he passed away." Waybourn said.

Police said it appears the two involved in the dispute knew each other and agreed to meet at the park.

Police arrest suspect in Little Rock triple shooting; case sealed by judge, authorities say

Little Rock police arrested a man on charges of first-degree murder hours after officers found three women fatally shot in a Little Rock home, a spokesman said.

Police officers responded Thursday afternoon to a call to check on the condition of a subject at 4601 W. 16th St. and found Torrence Deshawn Price, 42, of Pine Bluff lying in a pool of blood near a dead woman, according to an arrest report. Also inside the house were multiple children who police said were unharmed.

Officers entered the Little Rock residence, found two more dead women, and took a .40 caliber gun from Price before taking him into custody at approximately 2:15 p.m., the report said.

Police had not released the names of the three slain women by Friday afternoon. Police spokesman officer Eric Barnes said Little Rock District Court Judge Melanie Martin sealed the case, meaning little additional information about the motive or details of the homicides will be released.

The CHP got a report at 6:06 p.m. of a traffic collision on I-80 near Orange Drive and the old Nut Tree complex, the CHP said. Arriving investigators saw a man who had been shot; officers soon found a pickup truck nearby with several bullet holes in the side.

An 18-year-old man was stabbed to death at about 16:42 BST on Friday in Wandsworth, south London.

Police were called minutes later, at 16:54, to Plumstead, south-east London, where a 19-year-old man was shot dead.

A man in his 30s then died after he was stabbed in Tower Hamlets on Saturday afternoon.

Police: 4 family members shot, killed in West Des Moines

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa – Relatives discovered the bodies of four family members, including two children, with gunshot wounds at their home in central Iowa, police said.

The Iowa Department of Public Safety said Chandrasekhar Sunkara worked for the department's information technology unit for 11 years. He was not a sworn officer.

Authorities identified the victims as 44-year-old Lavanya Sunkara, 41-year-old Chandrasekhar Sunkara, and two boys aged 15 and 10 years, according to a police news release. Autopsies were being performed to determine the cause of death.

27-year-old woman shot and killed in Little Village

CHICAGO — A woman was shot to death while riding in a car early Sunday morning in the Little Village neighborhood.

The shooting happened around 1 a.m. in the 2600 block of South St. Louis Avenue. A 27-year-old woman was sitting on the passenger side of a car when someone fired shots, hitting her in the head.

The woman who was driving the car drove to a house in the 4100 block of West 25th Street where the passenger was pronounced dead. The driver said she did not see where the gunfire came from.
