I suggest to anons that they read the DOJ's letter and review of Treasury's refusal to provide Congress with Trump's tax returns. This entire document is basically a shellacking of the committee requesting the tax returns. Surprisingly, lots of keks to be had.
They used a law of oversight over the IRS that allows them to view tax returns in the aide of drafting legislation about taxes.
Here's a couple of highlights:
>Points to the law Congress used to request Trump's tax returns is just a pretext.
>Basically asks, "if you wanted to find out about Presidential audits, then why do you need 6 years of Trump's returns prior to him becoming President.
>William Barr makes a cameo appearance in the from of a quote from 1986
>Document basically is a walking, talking example of "Don't interrupt your enemies while they are making a mistake"
And this fucking hilarious quote from Chairman Neal.
>“the public has reasonably come to expect that presiden-tial candidates and aspirants release those documents,” but he cautioned that “[w]e need to approach this gingerly and make sure the rhetoric that is used does not become a footnote to the court case.” FUCKING KEK.
There's a lot of good stuff in there, I couldn't put it all in for time and space.
It also firmly rebukes Congress and their committees and issues a not-so-gentle reminder that they only have investigative powers as long as they are in the commission of informing themselves in the act of legislation. I'm not a lawfag, but this could have huge implications.
Definitely recommend all anons read at least the excerpts I took (pics very much related)
