Understand FOX News. First of all, FOX News is owned by Rupert Murdoch. As I'm sure you realize, he's "one of them." He's a member of the CFR and the Bilderberg Group. He's as "in the club" as anyone else. So why does he go in a somewhat different direction? The media giants knows that not everyone will accept the mainstream media narrative. A whole lot of people feel like their government or their news media has lied to them at some point. So what do they do with these people? How do they keep them from finding out the darkest secrets [think 9/11 conspiracy theories as one big example]?
Enter FOX News.
FOX news makes the budding truth-seeker feel like someone is listening to them. FOX news will acknowledge certain things and trump them up to earn the viewers trust. But like I alluded to, FOX News will NEVER tell you about the government's darkest deeds, and they hope that by acknowledging just a few of them, they will convince you that all they've told you, is all you need to know. FOX News is there to define the outer limit of the Overton Window.
So let's say 45% buy the CNN/NYTIMES/WAPO version of the truth, and let's say 45% buy the just-slightly-darker FOX News/NY Post/Breitbart version, and that leaves 10% or less of us to either not bother [just drink beer and watch sports], or sift through the reporting of fringe conspiracy theorists, most of whom ALSO exist just to deceive us [think Infowars - Alex Jones by his own admission comes from a CIA family]
Then when you tell them the Bush's and Clintons are equally bad, their minds are blown again. When you tell them that NoName and Hussein are both equally bad…
