>I think we are getting ready to see some market forces unleashed to correct some serious problems in our country. If civil liability for injury was restored to vaccine makers? Now THAT would be something to see.

Unfortunately, you won't. This exact 'protection racket' was initially one of the sole intents of the creation of the FDA over one hundred years ago (112 to be exact).

The Chemical Companies (ie. OIL) were the initial producers of medicinal products (way prior to the Pharmaceutical Companies) and created the FDA to run interference for them.

There were/are multiple reasons for them doing this, not the least of which is that you CAN NOT sue the manufacturer after a product has been approved by the FDA. This let's them operate with complete impunity against being responsible for their errors. Because the FDA is a government agency, you can't sue them either. Pretty convenient for ((them)), no?

Because everything has to be approved by the FDA, this also narrows their competition, because they don't approve what has already been proven effective elsewhere in the world. Cancer cures, anyone? Not here, it would effect the profit level of ((their)) preexisting racket.

Unfortunately, people coming to these realizations will not change the 'rules' they play by that were established over a hundred years ago.

There was an enormous dig done on this subject near two years ago. It is all here.

What is above is just off the top of my head.
