SEBASTIAN SHAKESPEARE: Smiling Prince Andrew rolls out the red carpet for China bigwig Hu Chunhua
Red carpet event.
As up to two million people marched in Hong Kong to protest against China on Sunday, the Communist regime’s vice premier, Hu Chunhua, was being treated to a slap-up lunch by Prince Andrew.
The Duke of York invited the senior official to his Windsor home, Royal Lodge, for the friendly get-together.
And Andrew was so proud of the meeting that he even posted a photograph online of them smiling together in the garden of his grade-II listed country residence. ‘The Duke has been a regular visitor to China since 2004,’ a royal source tells me. ‘He continues to help further the relationship between the two countries since President Xi’s state visit to Britain in 2015, with a specific focus on education and skills, entrepreneurship, and science, technology and engineering.’
