Court Forces Child Rape Survivor to Allow Her Rapist to Visit Children She Had Out of Rape

Imagine being raped repeatedly since you were a small child, eventually hitting puberty which allowed the rapist to then impregnate you. Imagine you then keep these children and raising them as your own after escaping your rapist. Then imagine that this monster wants to see the children that are products of his rape. Then imagine the state not only allows it, but forces you to allow him to see the kids or face jail. Sounds like a nightmare, right? Well, for a rape survivor in Alabama, it’s her reality.

Jessica, whose last name will not be mentioned to protect the identity of her children, says Alabama’s laws have forced her to face the man who raped her repeatedly since she was a child.

According to Jessica, she was repeatedly raped as a child by her mother’s half-brother, for years.

“Well, it all started when I was 12 or 13 years old, and he started climbing in my bed at night,” she told KVOE.

Sadly, because many police departments are more interested in busting people for marijuana than they are in arresting rapists, Jessica’s abuser was never convicted. This was in spite of DNA evidence that proved her claims.

The rapes were so frequent, that starting from the time she could have children, she did. At just 14-years-old, Jessica became pregnant and miscarried. Then, at 16, she had her first baby boy.

At 18, she had another baby, who died shortly after birth from a disease that is common among cases of incest. At 19, she had her youngest son.

Jessica is now 32 and she is forced to face her abuser regularly and allow him to see her children.

“I literally just felt like I didn’t have any options,” she said. In another interview, Jessica told The Washington Post she was forced by her family to marry her rapist. That marriage was later deemed illegal by a court due to a “familial relationship.”

Recently, according to the report, Jessica says her rapist has been taking her to court and suing for his visitation rights—and winning. Jessica is now speaking out because she wants this depraved and failing system to change. We agree.

“You have to stand behind what’s right, and you have to stand up for what you believe in. You know, it’s been a very long, hard road for me. But it’s going to be worth it. It may not benefit my case, but somebody in the future will benefit from this,” she said.

Acting SecDef Shanahan Withdraws Nomination To Replace Mattis

In a surprise announcement that prompted speculation about whether Shanahan himself knows this yet, President Trump tweeted Tuesday afternoon that acting SecDef Patrick Shanahan was withdrawing his name from consideration to take the job on a full-time basis.

Instead, Trump will appoint Mark Thomas Esper, the Secretary of the Army, to become the first full-time successor to James Mattis, who left in December.

Esper is an American politician and corporate executive who has been Secretary of the Army since 2017.

Prior to this, he served as vice president of government relations at Raytheon. Notably, the FBI is still in the middle of Shanahan's background check, and has reportedly been investigating violent disputes involving Shanahan and his wife and son that date back nine years.

Shanahan discussed these incidents in an interview with WaPo on Monday and Tuesday.

"Bad things can happen to good families…and this is a tragedy, really," Shanahan said. Dredging up the episode publicly, he said, "will ruin my son’s life."

In November 2011, Shanahan rushed to defend his then 17-year-old son, William Shanahan, in the days after the teenager brutally beat his mother. The attack had left Shanahan’s ex-wife unconscious in a pool of blood, her skull fractured and with internal injuries that required surgery, according to court and police records.

Two weeks later, Shanahan sent his ex-wife’s brother a memo arguing that his son had acted in self-defense.

"Use of a baseball bat in self-defense will likely be viewed as an imbalance of force,” Shanahan wrote. "However, Will’s mother harassed him for nearly three hours before the incident."

Details of the incidents have started to emerge in media reports about his nomination, including a USA Today report Tuesday about the punching incident in 2010.

Specifically, Shanahan's wife was arrested after punching him in the face, and his son was arrested after a separate incident in which he hit his mother with a baseball bat.

Shanahan has said that the public disclosure of these incidents would re-traumatize his family.

New York state approves issuing driver's licenses to illegal immigrants

Illegal immigrants in the state of New York will soon be able to obtain driver's licenses, under a new law signed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) Monday night.

What are the details?

The bill passed 33-29 in the Senate before making its way to the governor's desk, ending months of debate on what The New York Times called "a deeply polarizing issue that had splintered Democrats and stirred backlash among Republicans in New York and beyond."

According to USA Today, Cuomo suggested he might veto the bill over concerns that federal immigration officials might get their hands on the records of undocumented applicants, but decided to sign it after reassurance from Attorney General Letitia James.

Under the new law, residents without a social security number (and with no legal status for being in the United States) may use foreign documents such as passports to obtain state-issue driver's licenses from the Department of Motor Vehicles. New York joins 12 other states and the District of Columbia in allowing illegal immigrants to drive, and New Jersey is currently considering a similar measure.

Support for the New York legislation was largely divided by party lines, with every Republican opposing it, according to The Daily Caller.

Critics say the new law is unconstitutional on its face, and serves as a disincentive for immigrants to pursue legal citizenship. Ahead of the vote, one county clerk even declared he would refuse to issue driver's licenses to undocumented applicants, no matter what the law says.

Rensselaer County Clerk Frank Merola told WRGB-TV, "My approach is we're not going to give these licenses to illegal immigrants. People have already violated this law by breaking into this country and we view this bill as kind of waiving all that."

Merola added, "Apparently you're breaking the law by driving illegally without a license and without insurance and we're not going to reward that behavior here in Rensselaer County."

According to the Migration Policy Institute, The Times noted there are roughly 940,000 illegal immigrants living in New York state. The group estimates that 882,000 people within that population are of working age, 600,000 of whom are employed.

USA Today reported that advocates say the new law will allow those workers to obtain "insurance and avoid the threat of deportation if they are pulled over."

The attack on free speech in the name of combating violence and “hate speech” continues to escalate: In Germany, MSM are trying to frame alternative media for the murder of CDU politician Walter Lübcke by a deranged far-right crazy.

Kassel regional government president Walter Lübcke, a member of Angela Merkel’s CDU, became a controversial figure in 2015 at the height of Merkel’s refugee influx, when he told a critic at a public debate, “If you don’t like the values of this country, you’re free to leave at any time.” The remark caused an uproar in patriotic German circles, Lübcke received a torrent of threats and online abuse which had since faded, however.

On June 2 of this year, Lübcke was found shot in the head in his yard. On June 15, suspect Stefan E. was arrested, who is active in far-right paramilitary group Combat 18 and was convicted of bombing a refugee home in 1993.

Mainstream media are now blaming alternative media in Germany for this crime. As Soros-funded “Hate Speech monitor” Amadeu Antonio Foundation and blog Volksverpetzer reported, a reader had posted the (publicly available) office address of Dr. Walter Lübcke in the comments section of leading German alternative news site Politically Incorrect in 2015.

The statement released by the Association of Free Media in Germany says: “The murder of Dr. Walter Lübcke, allegedly by a far-right activist, is a heinous crime. We urgently need to examine not only the crime, but also the circumstances that led to this deed.”

Ex-UEFA president Platini in custody amid probe into the awarding of 2022 FIFA World Cup to Qatar

Football legend and former UEFA boss Michel Platini is in custody in France amid an ongoing probe into the awarding of the 2022 FIFA World Cup to Qatar.

Platini is being held for “technical reasons,” his lawyer said, adding that his client is innocent of any allegations.

Earlier reports said that Platini was detained and questioned on Tuesday morning inside the office of the anti-corruption police in Nanterre, a suburb of Paris.

It came amid an ongoing corruption investigation into the bidding process to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup. In 2010, the event was awarded to Qatar.

France’s National Financial Prosecutor’s Office launched a bribery probe in the case in 2016. Platini was originally summoned to testify as a witness, according to Le Monde.

Prosecutors are reportedly looking into a lunch hosted by then-French President Nicolas Sarkozy, nine days before it was announced that Qatar had won the right to host the tournament. Sarkozy’s former chief of staff, Claude Gueant, and former adviser on sports, Sophie Dion, were questioned by police on Tuesday, after which Dion was detained along with Platini, it is said.

Michel Platini formally resigned as UEFA chief in 2016 after FIFA’s ethics committee banned him from football for eight years (the ban was later reduced to four years). It followed a probe into financial dealings unrelated to the 2022 World Cup bid. He was cleared of corruption charges but found guilty of violating other FIFA rules, including mismanagement and conflict of interest. Platini has denied any wrongdoing.

Pentagon announces $250 million in military aid to Ukraine

The US will provide Ukraine with $250 million worth of military equipment, training and support, the Pentagon announced, saying Ukraine’s Navy and marines would be among the beneficiaries.

The Ukrainian military will get sniper rifles, grenade launchers, counter-battery radar systems, night vision equipment and communication devices, the Pentagon statement said. The inventory does not seem to deviate from what Kiev received as military aid from Washington over the previous years.

The statement said the package will bring total US security assistance to Ukraine to $1.5 billion since 2014, when a US-backed coup in Kiev ousted Ukraine’s elected government. Kiev accused Russia of starting the conflict and requested military assistance from Western nations.

Washington’s assistance escalated under the Trump administration, which agreed to provide the Ukrainians with more advanced lethal weapons like anti-tank missiles, a move that his predecessor in the White House wouldn’t take.

The announcement comes amid the transition period for Ukraine’s new President Volodymyr Zelensky, who campaigned on a promise to eradicate corruption and bring peace to the country. His rhetoric, however, became more belligerent after his inauguration.

Facebook announces entry into cryptocurrency market with Libra

Facebook has announced its intention to make cryptocurrency mainstream with the launch of its own digital currency, Libra, which will be overseen by new financial services subsidiary Calibra.

The social network’s press release states that half of the world’s adult population doesn’t have a bank account, so the company would like to fill that gap, especially as the numbers are even worse in developing countries and among women.

The company plans to elevate the downtrodden out of poverty with the help of Calibra, a newly-formed financial services subsidiary that will serve as the gatekeeper to the Libra cryptocurrency network/market. The whole operation will be overseen by the Libra Association, an independent, non-profit organization based in Geneva that will manage the currency, which boasts 28 founding members, including Mastercard, Uber, Mercy Corps, and Andreesen Horowitz.

The Calibra digital currency wallet will be available in Messenger, WhatsApp, and as its own standalone app expected to launch in 2020, and will, the company hopes, make sending money as easy as sending a photo.

Obama Alumni May Be Prodding Iran, Inadvertently, to War

The latest talking point from Democrats is that President Donald Trump is maneuvering the United States into a war with Iran — but ironically, it may be Democrats themselves who are making war more likely by defending the Iranian regime and encouraging it to stand firm against the president.

Last week, former Obama national security aide Ben Rhodes, an architect of the Iran nuclear deal, publicly doubted reports that Iran was sabotaging tankers in the Persian Gulf. (More evidence has since emerged.)

Last month, the Daily Beast reported that several Obama administration alumni were continuing to speak to, and advise, Iranian officials: “As the Trump administration sent warplanes and an aircraft carrier to the Persian Gulf, a small group of former Obama administration officials reached out to their contacts in the Iranian government, including Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif. Their message to Iran: Don’t take Trump’s bait. Stay calm.”

And last year, former Secretary of State John Kerry was reported to have told Iranian officials to “wait out” President Trump — not to comply with American pressure to stop funding terror, stop developing ballistic missiles, and return to talks to create a better agreement that stops Iran from getting the bomb.

When Republicans, led by Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR), signed a letter in 2015 to the Iranian regime warning that Obama’s talks were circumventing the Constitution and therefore might not be honored by future administrations, Democrats accused them of treason, with Obama himself alleging they were making “common cause” with Tehran.

Now Democrats are undermining Trump’s attempt to pressure Iran — not for any constitutional reason, but to preserve Obama’s most important (and dubious) foreign policy legacy.

Some may naïvely believe they are helping to avoid war. If anything, they are likely doing the opposite.

If Iran believes that American threats are not serious, especially about the use of military force as a last resort, it may behave in more aggressive ways, certain the Trump administration will relent.

Analysts at the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) wrote last week: “Iran has escalated its violent activity against the Gulf states – Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) – with the aim of bringing the U.S. into negotiations with it on Iran’s own terms: indirect negotiations aimed at lifting the U.S. sanctions on it.”

They added that Iran has interpreted “conciliatory U.S. measures,” such as negotiations on a prisoner release and a maritime border between Israel and Lebanon, as shows of weakness. The regime has also interpreted — or at least spun publicly — President Trump’s recent offers of negotiation as a sign that it is winning.

WikiLeaks’ Vault7 CIA leaker tried to start ‘information war’ against govt – prosecutors

The ex-CIA leaker who gave WikiLeaks the ‘Vault7’ documents smuggled phones into a Manhattan jail with the intention of waging an “information war” against the US government and “finally revers[ing] US jingoism” from behind bars.

Former CIA technician Joshua Schulte, who leaked documents confirming the CIA can spy on people through their “smart” appliances, along with a mind-boggling array of other sophisticated hacking tools, “smuggled contraband cellphones into the [Metropolitan Correctional Center], created encrypted email accounts and secret social media accounts, and drafted misleading ‘articles’ for public dissemination that were not only fraught with misinformation but also contained classified information,” a US government memorandum filed Monday claims. The memo adds that Schulte has “gone to extraordinary lengths… to try to blackmail the Government into releasing him by disclosing and threatening to disclose more classified information.”

Attorney for the Southern District of New York Geoffrey Berman filed to block Schulte’s request to end the extreme restrictions – including solitary confinement – placed on him in prison, arguing Schulte has only himself to blame for the harsh measures, which forbid contact with anyone outside his immediate family and lawyer.

Schulte, the memo claims, used contraband phones and deputized his fellow prisoners and extended family members in a pattern of “willful and illegal acts that culminated in his declaration of an ‘information war’ against the United States,” continuing to leak classified material to reporters through this ad-hoc information network and threatening to go much, much bigger.

“I will look to breakup diplomatic relationships, close embassies, and US occupation around the world & finally reverse US jingoism,” Schulte allegedly wrote in a journal found in his cell, demanding “$50 billion in restitution” and the prosecution of “the criminals who lied to the judge and presented this BS case.”

Berman argues that if the restrictions are lifted, Schulte will resume his “information war,” and denies the measures violate his First Amendment rights. “The Court need not speculate whether Schulte would disclose classified information illegally from the MCC because he already has,” Berman states.
