US military spokesman denies deal is finalized

US negotiations with the Taliban have been making substantial progress in recent months, and there seem to be high hopes that a meeting next week in Doha would be a breakthrough moment. Taliban spokesman Suhail Shaheen suggested the deal is already effectively made.

Shaheen announced on Twitter Tuesday that the US had pledged to accept a full military withdrawal from Afghanistan, and furthermore to never again interfere in Afghan affairs.

That is certainly the direction the talks have been going, but US military spokesman Col. Dave Butler denied that any such deal was made, saying that “nothing is agreed until everything is agreed.”

But the basic framework has always been a US withdrawal and the Taliban keeping ISIS and al-Qaeda out of Afghanistan. Further details may need to be worked out to finalize everything, and it’s not clear where they are in that process.

Still, for the US to completely deny that a deal is agreed to seems dishonest, even if technically it isn’t finalized. The US likely just isn’t ready to make this part of the deal official, because of the backlash from Congressional hawks who want to keep troops in Afghanistan forever.

President Trump's spiritual advisor prays that anti-Trump 'demonic networks' be 'torn down' during Florida rally

President Donald Trump's rally in Orlando, Florida, opened with a prayer from his spiritual advisor Paula White, who prayed for the president, but also that "demonic networks" be torn down.

White asked that everyone in the audience hold hands as she prayed.

"So right now, let every demonic network that has aligned itself against the purpose, against the calling of President Trump, let it be broken, let it be torn down in the name of Jesus," she exclaimed.

"I declare that President Trump will overcome every strategy from hell and every strategy from the enemy," she added later in her prayer.

Paula White has been criticized by some for propagating the "prosperity gospel," which many Evangelical Christians consider to be heretical. She also gave the convocation at the president's inauguration in January 2017.

Asked for his own views on BDS, her husband gets right to the point. “It’s bullshit,” he says. “I’m in favor of helping good people wherever they are who are trying to do good in the world. So I don’t care about all that stuff. I really don’t.”

Blum, 83, was breaking for lunch just a few hours after landing in Israel on his private plan, gearing up for a jam-packed week of meetings and site visits. The Blum Lab for Developing Economies — a partnership with the Milken Innovation Center at the Jerusalem Institute for Policy Research — was officially launched two years ago. Blum is in town to meet with the first cohort of seven international fellows at the center, almost all of them from Africa. Israeli channel airs call to expel all Palestinians

The Israeli international TV channel i24 News last week aired a call for the total ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people.

“There will never, ever be a two-state solution,” British far-right demagogue Katie Hopkins stated. “Israel will become the super force here. You will have to have a one-state solution.”

But she wasn’t talking about a single state with equal rights for all.

“There will not be peace in Israel until you remove the people who don’t belong there,” Hopkins asserted.

Another guest, former Israeli diplomat Daniel Shek, objected that they – the Palestinians – “are indigenous people, not migrants.” But Hopkins added that “it will be a one-state solution, and in so far as you will have to remove certain individuals, you would just take more land.”

Shek asked: “You mean 50 percent of the population will have to go?”

“Yes, they will have to go,” Hopkins affirmed. “If some of their population still stab you with knives, then I would say yes, the rest have to go.”

Palestinians constitute half – and likely a slight majority – of the approximately 13 million people who live in what is today Israel, the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Hopkins’ call for the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians may even meet the international legal definition of genocide.

The Genocide Convention defines numerous acts as genocide if they are committed “with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such.”

Indeed, prominent scholars of genocide argue that Israel’s policies towards the Palestinian people over decades constitute a form of genocide.

In recent years, Israeli political leaders have habitually advanced genocidal plans for the expulsion of the Palestinians and their destruction as a national collective.

“Natural home”

Hopkins is a notorious far-right racist who has caught the favorable attention of US President Donald Trump for her Islamophobic vitriol.

She has a well-documented record of using her high-profile media appearances to spread conspiracy theories and incite racial, ethnic and religious hatred.

This systematic racism has done nothing to deter the self-declared human rights champions at the European Union from embracing Israeli municipalities.

Last month, Emanuele Giaufret, the EU ambassador in Tel Aviv, met the chair of the Federation of Local Authorities in Israel to “deepen cooperation between the EU and Israeli municipalities.”

There is no indication that the EU is requiring Israeli municipalities to end their racism against Palestinians and people from African states as a condition for such cooperation.

California Begins Massive Voter Roll Clean-Up – Notifies Up to 1.5 Million ‘Inactive’ Voters as Part of Judicial Watch Lawsuit Settlement

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch announced today that it has been informed that Los Angeles County has sent notices to as many as 1.5 million inactive voters on its voter rolls. This mailing is a step toward removing the names of voters who have moved, died, or are otherwise ineligible to vote. The massive mailing is the result of a settlement agreement with Judicial Watch requiring the County to remove as many as 1.5 million inactive registrations. In addition, the California secretary of state has alerted other California counties to clean up their voter registration lists to comply with the federal National Voter Registration Act (NVRA), as the secretary promised to do in that same settlement agreement.

All of this is the result of a federal lawsuit Judicial Watch filed in 2017 to force the cleanup of Los Angeles County’s voter rolls (Judicial Watch, Inc., et al. v. Dean C. Logan, et al. (No. 2:17-cv-08948)). Judicial Watch sued on its own behalf and on behalf of Wolfgang Kupka, Rhue Guyant, Jerry Griffin, and Delores M. Mars, who are lawfully registered voters in Los Angeles County. Judicial Watch was joined in this lawsuit by Election Integrity Project California, Inc., a public interest group that has long been involved in monitoring California’s voter rolls.

Under the terms of the settlement agreement, voters who do not respond to the notices sent by the County and who do not vote in the next two federal elections must be removed from the voting rolls. Secretary Padilla also agreed to update the state’s online NVRA manual in order to make clear that ineligible names must be removed and to notify each California county that they are obliged to do this. On April 11, Secretary Padilla notified Judicial Watch that this part of the settlement agreement had been implemented.

Crowdstrike Never Produced Final Report On Alleged Russian Hacking

CrowdStrike, the controversial cybersecurity firm that the Democratic National Committee chose over the FBI in 2016 to examine its compromised computer servers, never produced an un-redacted or final forensic report for the government because the FBI never required it to, the Justice Department has admitted.

The revelation came in a court filing by the government in the pretrial phase of Roger Stone, a longtime Republican operative who had an unofficial role in the campaign of candidate Donald Trump. Stone has been charged with misleading Congress, obstructing justice and intimidating a witness.

The filing was in response to a motion by Stone's lawyers asking for "unredacted reports" from CrowdStrike in an effort to get the government to prove that Russia hacked the DNC server. "The government … does not possess the information the defendant seeks," the filing says.

In his motion, Stone's lawyers said he had only been given three redacted drafts. In a startling footnote in the government's response, the DOJ admits the drafts are all that exist. "Although the reports produced to the defendant are marked 'draft,' counsel for the DNC and DCCC informed the government that they are the last version of the report produced," the footnote says.

In other words CrowdStrike, upon which the FBI relied to conclude that Russia hacked the DNC, never completed a final report and only turned over three redacted drafts to the government.

These drafts were "voluntarily" given to the FBI by DNC lawyers, the filing says. "No redacted information concerned the attribution of the attack to Russian actors," the filing quotes DNC lawyers as saying.

In Stone's motion his lawyers argued: "If the Russian state did not hack the DNC, DCCC, or [Clinton campaign chairman John] Podesta's servers, then Roger Stone was prosecuted for obstructing a congressional investigation into an unproven Russian state hacking conspiracy … The issue of whether or not the DNC was hacked is central to the Defendant's defense."

The DOJ responded: "The government does not need to prove at the defendant's trial that the Russians hacked the DNC in order to prove the defendant made false statements, tampered with a witness, and obstructed justice into a congressional investigation regarding election interference."

Thousands of emails from the DNC server were published by WikiLeaks in July 2016 revealing that the DNC interfered in the Democratic primary process to favor former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton over Senator Bernie Sanders for the party's presidential nomination. The U.S. indicted 12 Russian military intelligence agents in 2018 for allegedly hacking the DNC server and giving the emails to WikiLeaks.

New Vermont Law Expands Raw Milk Sales; Foundation to Nullify Federal Prohibition Scheme

MONTPELIER, Vt. (June 18, 2019) – Yesterday, Gov. Phil Scott signed a bill that would expand raw milk sales in the state and take another step toward nullifying a federal prohibition scheme in practice and effect.

The House Agriculture and Forestry Committee sponsored House Bill 525 (HB525). The new law makes a number of changes to the state’s agriculture policies, including expanding raw milk sales. Under the law, farmers who sell more than 87.5 gallons to 350 gallons of raw milk per week can sell and deliver unpasteurized milk directly to the consumer off the farm and at farmers markets.

Current law only allows direct to consumer sales on the farm where the milk was produced. Tier 2 producers can deliver raw milk to farmers markets, but only if the sale and financing have been set up beforehand.

On May 23, both the House and Senate adopted a conference report that hammered out an agreement relating to numerous amendments in the bill. With Gov. Scott’s signature, the law will go into effect July 1.

Impact on Federal Prohibition

FDA officials insist that unpasteurized milk poses a health risk because of its susceptibility to contamination from cow manure, a source of E. coli.

“It is the FDA’s position that raw milk should never be consumed,” agency spokeswoman Tamara N. Ward said in November 2011.

The FDA’s position represents more than a matter of opinion. In 1987, the feds implemented 21 CFR 1240.61(a), providing that, “no person shall cause to be delivered into interstate commerce or shall sell, otherwise distribute, or hold for sale or other distribution after shipment in interstate commerce any milk or milk product in final package form for direct human consumption unless the product has been pasteurized.”

Not only do the feds ban the transportation of raw milk across state lines; they also claim the authority to ban unpasteurized milk within the borders of a state.

“It is within HHS’s authority…to institute an intrastate ban [on unpasteurized milk] as well,” FDA officials wrote in response to a Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund lawsuit against the agency over the interstate ban.

The FDA clearly wants complete prohibition of raw milk and some insiders say it’s only a matter of time before the feds try to institute an absolute ban. Armed raids by FDA agents on companies like Rawsome Foods back in 2011 and Amish farms over the last few years also indicate this scenario may not be too far off.

When states allow the sale of raw milk within their borders, it takes an important step toward nullifying this federal prohibition scheme.

Raniere Guilty on All Counts

The jury was out for less than 5 hours when they reached a unanimous verdict. Guilty on all counts. Guilty on everything. Keith Alan Raniere is guilty.

The lad was led into court by US Marshals. Raniere, likely knowing, by the quickness of the jury’s verdict, that he was a gone goose. His usually smug countenance was filled with dismay and a discomfited appearance.

He failed. His case failed. The victim witnesses – Sylvie, Mark Vicente, Daniela, Lauren Salzman, Nicole and Jaye persuaded the jury. This was a monster not a man.

Moments after the verdict was read, the US Marshalls, who have sat in court unobtrusively behind him in plainclothes, day after day, of the long 25 days of trial, slapped handcuffs on Raniere.

There is not more presumption of innocence. No appearance to keep up before the jury.

The man formerly worshiped by his followers as the illustrious Vanguard is now a convicted felon. He is 58. His birthday August 26, 1960. The sentencing range for his crimes are from 15 years minimum for sex trafficking – up to life in prison.

During the trial, Raniere sat silently, always alert, often scribbling on sticky notes, oft times staring at the witnesses arrayed against him – most of them his former devotees.

There were also FBI agents, other non Nxivm victims such as James Loperfido, and Rick Ross. There was longtime confidante of Edgar Bronfman – Stephan Herbits – and an expert on sex assault victims Dr. Dawn Hughes.

But in the end it was the women who sunk him. The sympathetic women who to a woman cried over what he had done to them – and how he had destroyed their lives.

He will be sentenced next later this year. he will return for the present to the MDC in Brooklyn where he has been held pre trial since April 2018.

Absent some appeal – which overturns his conviction – which seems infinitesimally remote at this juncture, he will spend the rest of most of the rest of his life in prison.

CA Voters Not Happy With Free Medical for Illegals

As the California state legislature and Gov. Gavin Newsom dislocate their shoulders in the hearty backslapping of their self-congratulatory moment in American history, the rest of the nation is snarling and spitting over the lunacy of the left coast Democrats. That is, according to the new Rasmussen Reports poll, which asked if illegal immigrants should receive free health care.

The answer was a resounding no. No way, no how, nuh-uh, nada.

It was a brief two-question survey that spoke volumes: “Do you favor or oppose making health care benefits available to young low-income illegal immigrants in your state? Is it offensive to refer to someone who has entered this country illegally as ‘an illegal immigrant?’”

Out of 1,000 online and telephone respondents, “31% of Likely U.S. Voters favor making health care benefits available to low-income illegal immigrants under the age of 26 in their state. Fifty-five percent (55%) are opposed, while 13% are not sure.” One can only imagine the responses to question number two.

The only surprising statistic is that 13% had not yet picked a side in what might be the watershed issue for 2020 presidential candidates.

Russian, Syrian Warplanes Struck Idlib City For First Time In Three Months

On June 18 and 19, warplanes of the Russian Aerospace Forces and the Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF) stuck several militant targets in the outskirt of Idlib’s city center for the first time in three months.

Opposition activists said that the Russian and Syrian airstrikes targeted several positions around the city, including the district of al-Sina’a. Many workshops and small factories are reportedly located there.

Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its allies are known for storing weapons inside civilian buildings in Idlib’s city center and around it. In late 2017, a truck carrying ammo for the group exploded near a football stadium in the heart of the city. More than a year later, an ammo depot located inside Idlib’s collage exploded.

The three, who spoke to the Verge for a lengthy report, worked at a Tampa office of Cognizant, one of the professional services firms that Facebook hires to police content for violence, extremism, child pornography and other banned content.

They describe a high-stress environment where 'process executives', as Cognizant calls moderators, are paid $15 an hour to pore over disturbing content at filthy shared desks and a single dirty bathroom shared by 800 employees, all while attempting to apply Facebook's ever-changing standards to controversial posts.

'It's a sweatshop in America,' said Melynda Johnson, who began working at the Tampa site in June 2018 and left in March. 'Every bit of that building was absolutely disgusting. You'd go in the bathroom and there would be period blood and poop all over the place. It smelled horrendous all the time.'

In a statement to DailyMail.com, a Facebook spokesman said: 'We work with our content review partners to provide a level of support and compensation that leads the industry.'

'There will inevitably be employee challenges or dissatisfaction that call our commitment to this work and our partners' employees into question. When the circumstances warrant action on the part of management, we make sure it happens,' the spokesman continued.

Cognizant did not immediately respond to requests for comment from DailyMail.com.

Cognizant told the Verge that it 'strives to create a safe and empowering workplace'.

One of the most disturbing stories shared by employees at the Tampa facility was the death of employee Keith Utley at his desk on March 9, 2018.

Utley, a retired lieutenant commander in the Coast Guard and married father of two, slumped over at his desk, and was pronounced dead of a heart attack a short while later.

Spain refuels Russian ships despite NATO pressure, says UK has to leave Gibraltar

Madrid has raised fresh complaints about British military presence in Gibraltar while continuing to resist NATO pressure to bar the Russian navy from refueling at the nearby port of Ceuta.

The Spanish ambassador to the United Nations, Agustín Santos Maraver, called out the UK for their military installations in Gibraltar during a scathing speech to the UN Committee on Decolonization on Monday.

Enraged community castrates, kills man accused of raping teenage girls

Community members apparently castrated and killed a man accused of being part of a gang who allegedly raped two girls, aged 14 and 18, on Saturday night in Ivory Park near Tembisa in Gauteng.

Police spokesperson Col Lungelo Dlamini said in a statement on Sunday that the two girls were allegedly walking to Lindokuhle township when three suspects armed with a gun and a knife confronted them.

"The suspects then raped them repeatedly. A member of the public who saw the incident alerted the community who came out and confronted the alleged rapists," Dlamini said.

"Two of the suspects managed to escape and the other was caught and allegedly killed by members of the community at the scene."

The police opened a murder case. No arrests have been made.

Johannesburg: Suspected rapist’s penis chopped off before being murdered

Rough justice has been served in Ivory Park, Johannesburg this weekend: Local community members reacted violently when a rapist was caught in the act.

A gruesome crime unfolded in Johannesburg over the long weekend, and a vigilante mob took the law into their own hands in the most violent way imaginable. A man suspected of being involved in a gang rape on Saturday was castrated before being killed by irate community members.

How the Ivory Park castration happened

The incident took place in Ivory Park, at an informal settlement. It is understood two girls were walking home when a group of three men accosted them, brandishing knives and firearms before committing their heinous crime. EWN understands that the rapes happened “repeatedly”.

However, when they were spotted by an eyewitness, several angered Ivory Park residents immediately stormed towards the scene and gave chase to the rapists. Two of the group escaped, but one unfortunate suspect ended up on the wrong end of some gratuitously rough justice.

Mob rule prevails in Johannesburg

The victims of the rape were aged 14 and 18 respectively. That’s according to Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Lungelo Dlamini, who confirmed the attack had taken place on Sunday. SAPS aren’t exactly best-pleased with the way locals decided to handle the situation and have issued a warning for all South Africans to avoid taking part in vigilanteism:

Fox's Tucker Carlson Privately Advising Trump Against War With Iran: Report

A surprising headline from the Daily Beast suggests President Trump could be bucking his own administration hawks on Iran with help from an outside source: "Tucker Carlson Is Privately Advising Trump On Iran" — the headline reads.

Over and against uber-hawks John Bolton and Mike Pompeo, the report says "there’s been another, far different voice in the president’s ear: that of Fox News host Tucker Carlson."

For at least the past year Tucker Carlson has been a rare, outspoken non-interventionist voice on prime time network news, aggressively questioning US military presence and past regime change actions in places like Syria, Afghanistan, Libya, Yemen, as well as Washington's long-time weapons sales to Saudi Arabia. He's come under fire from Republican neocons and Democratic hawks alike for frequently hosting foreign policy skeptics like Tulsi Gabbard, Glenn Greenwald, Rand Paul, and others.

Carlson recently even questioned mainstream media claims that Syria's Assad is gassing his own people, presenting leaked evidence that suggests the rebels could be staging such atrocities to draw the US military into action against Damascus.

A source familiar with the conversations told The Daily Beast that, in recent weeks, the Fox News host has privately advised Trump against taking military action against Iran. And a senior administration official said that during the president’s recent conversations with the Fox primetime host, Carlson has bashed the more “hawkish members” of his administration.

The popular Fox host has publicly pushed back against the march to war against Iran in recent weeks, saying an escalation and war scenario would likely not be “in anyone’s interest,” while also being a persistent critic of Bolton for his well-known hawkish rhetoric on Iran.

The Daily Beast report further points out that Carlson has lately question the administration's "evidence" that Iran was behind last week's tanker attacks in the Gulf of Oman:

The Fox News host compared Pompeo’s “misplaced certainty” that Iran attacked the tankers to former Secretary of State Colin Powell’s now-discredited claim that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction.

“We’re still paying a price for that,” Carlson said.

As the report also notes, Trump has personally tweeted out content from Carlson's Fox show, Tucker Carlson Tonight, on at least 20 separate occasions over the past year.
