Not quite sure which plane type is a fighter jet. Not seeing a trio of planes together anywhere in the country.

Any idea what altitude they were at, speed, or direction?

There is a pair of Hawker Hunters over FL flying same course & direction, but near 35,000 ft. I'm thinking you wouldn't have noticed them unless they were flying low or very very loud?
