A person who has high character would not be needed to be bought off to be silent. They would not be part of a government monopoly fake program …. or as soon as they became aware of this fact they would be gone because they would not partake in it.
You can repent and ask for forgiveness if you feel sick about the fact that you aided and participated in a sham (fellowship), and you should give back the money you were paid to be silent/ compliant.
