WASHINGTON – Moments after exiting a meeting at the White House to discuss an attack on a U.S. drone from Iran, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer was seen raising the roof while House Speaker Nancy Pelosi clapped along.
But his excitement had nothing to do with the meeting.
Schumer, D-N.Y., spokesman Justin Goodman said in a statement that Pelosi, D-Calif., had asked the senator how his mother was doing, who had been rushed to the emergency room on Wednesday.
"Schumer told her he was overjoyed because his mother had just been released from the hospital and is OK," Goodman said in the statement.
This was Schumer and Pelosi's tarmac meeting and they got caught too. And Schumer's statement confirms it was not about his mother either.
