Navy Won’t Drop Charges on Edward Gallagher

According to Fox News, “Navy prosecutors are still pursuing murder charges against Special Operations Chief Edward Gallagher even after bombshell testimony Thursday by a Navy colleague who confessed that he was the one to kill the teenage Islamic State fighter.”

SEAL Team Seven Medic Corey Scott testified under an immunity agreement that he killed the fighter by placing his “thumb over his TT tube until he quit breathing,” suffocating the fighter. While being cross-examined, Scott claimed he killed him because he “knew he was going to die anyway,” and he “wanted to save him from what was going to happen next,” implying torture being applied to the terrorist by the Iraqis.

Prosecutors are now trying to claim that Scott only admitted to suffocating the fighter because he was protected by the immunity agreement and he did not want to see his colleague go to jail.

Again and again, Eddie Gallagher’s case has resulted in decisions by the court that would never withstand a legal test in a civilian court of law. Gallagher is a decorated SEAL with 19 years of service who earned a Bronze Star with V for Valor twice, a Meritorious Unit Commendation and a trio of Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medals.
