Irrelevant. He's trying to set the stage to say that he actually had something
worth bargaining for, i.e., he had something on Trump. He's not stupid. He's
been around long enough to know that using encryption doesn't work with
the government. Don't be fooled by some media report trying to pain him
as just some dummy.
He's been playing this sympathetic pawn that's being persecuted by Mueller
gig since this whole thing started. Don't fall for it.
He doesn't know what they (DoJ/Trump) know, either. In fact, the public
sphere of knowledge w.r.t. all this is probably only a few %. There appear
to be dozens of actors playing their roles, and it's impossible to tell which
is truly acting and which is indeed fucked. We're all in for a surprise
