Iran 'executes ex-defence employee accused of spying for US'

Iran has reportedly executed one of its former ministry of defence employees suspected of spying for the US.

Jalal Hajizavar was a contract employee for Tehran's aerospace organisation, according to reports on Saturday.

He left his post nine years ago and was convicted by a military court after an investigation which discovered documents and spying equipment at his home, according to the IRIB news agency.

It claims he was executed at the Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, west of Tehran.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump says he will impose additional sanctions on Iran in an effort to prevent the country from obtaining nuclear weapons.

The US president, who spoke to reporters at the White House before leaving for Camp David, said: "In some cases we are going slowly, but in other cases we are moving rapidly."

He had earlier considered military action after Iran shot down a US drone, but decided against it at the last minute.

Although he later said on Saturday, that military action "is always on the table" against Iran.

But he also indicated he was open to reversing the escalation, adding he was willing to quickly reach a deal with

Iran, that he said would bolster the country's flagging economy.

He said: "We will call it 'let's make Iran great again'."

Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif tweeted a map with detailed coordinates, which he said showed the drone was within the Islamic Republic's territorial waters.

It also revealed two yellow squares on the flight path of the drone which, according to the map, indicate Iranian radio warnings sent to the drone.

Dr Andrew Murrison, the UK's minister of state for the Middle East, will head to Iran on Sunday and demand a de-escalation of tension in the region.

He will also discuss worries over Iran's threat to stop complying with its nuclear deal.

Spouse is the only one who believes….although at times, will mock me about it. But I see the eyes opening more and more every time we watch the news……

It's the rest of my family that thinks I am crazy…

I would just try to avoid any talk of it.

One day they will all see…..

and realize we were right. (tho being "right" is not the goal).

Pope Calls for New Catholic Theological Curriculum – Teaching Students to View Muslims as Brothers

Pope calls on faithful to be as blind to real life dangers as he is.

This guy is a continued clown show. When he’s not pushing global warming and open borders, he’s pushing partnership and brotherhood with Islam.

God save your church!

Robert Spencer has fun with this one.

Meanwhile…

Radical Islam has its own plans.

ABC News reported:

Pope Francis called Friday for a reform of the way theology is taught in Catholic schools, saying students must learn about dialogue with Judaism and Islam, and that overall there must be greater freedom in theological research and academic pursuits.

The Jesuit pope made the call during a speech at the Jesuit-run theology university in Naples. It follows his outreach this year to the Muslim world with the signing of a joint statement with the imam of Cairo’s Al Azhar, the seat of Sunni learning, establishing the relationship between Catholics and Muslims as brothers, with a common mission to promote peace.

In his speech, Francis said dialogue and partnership with the Muslim world is necessary “to build a peaceful existence, even when there are the troublesome episodes by fanatic enemies of dialogue.”

Catholic theology students must learn the culture, language and way of thinking of Jews and Muslims “to better understand and live out our relationship,” he said.

After the theologically doctrinaire papacies of St. John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI, Francis has stressed instead the need to “walk together” with interfaith partners, often joking that theologians should ruminate on a deserted island while religious leaders press ahead with dialogue on the ground. He has also called for a more pastoral, merciful and conscience-driven approach to sticky theological problems, such as Communion for the civilly remarried.
