Apple, Microsoft and other tech companies ask to be excluded from the China tariffs

Technology companies have been feeling the sting of the escalating trade war between the United States and China. Now, they’re trying to avoid a proposed new round of tariffs that takes aim at many American tech products.

More than half a dozen big tech companies wrote to the Trump Administration this week asking it not to hit the products they produce in China with additional tariffs.

The White House has proposed a bill that would place a 25% tariff on $300 billion in Chinese goods not already subject to tariffs. The tariff would apply to a wide range of products, from live buffalo and primates to T-shirts and shoes. It would also cover laptops, video game consoles, battery cases and other products that tech companies say would increase costs for consumers or harm their abilities to make a profit.

“No one wins in a trade war, and an escalating tariff fight will inflict immense damage on American businesses, workers and consumers,” the Association wrote.

The trade dispute has forced some tech companies to look beyond China for new locations, mostly in Southeast Asia, to produce their goods. But leaving China is a slow and costly process, because the country has for decades amassed the infrastructure, talent and suppliers needed for manufacturing.

DHS Docs Confirm Trump Was Right… 1 in 4 Caravanners Had Criminal Records

Even liberals should find these numbers chilling

While Democrats and the mainstream media make an effort to paint the massive influx of illegal aliens on the country’s southern border as peaceful “asylum seekers” who should be welcomed, new figures turned up by the Department of Homeland Security show hundreds already have criminal records from acts committed in the United States.

A Daily Caller News Foundation report Thursday showed their crimes include aggravated assault, sexual offenses and murder.

According to the report, the numbers were contained in a letter from members of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform to the Department of Homeland Security.

The DCNF reported that the letter described an investigation by Customs and Border Protection agents and Immigration and Customs Enforcement — both agencies within the DHS — into migrants who participated in two “caravans” that reached the California border – one in October 2018, the other in January of this year.

Of the approximately 8,000 migrants in the 2018 caravan, 660 already had criminal records from the U.S., the DCNF reported.

“Of those, nearly 40 were convicted of assault or aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Three of them were convicted for murder,” the DCNF wrote.

For the January caravan – made up of about 3,300 migrants – it was even worse.

The DCNF reported that 860 had criminal histories in the United States, “including 30 convicted of sexual offenses, 20 convicted of assault and aggravated assault and one convicted of attempted murder.” That means 26 percent of the caravanners — about one out of every four members — had documented criminal histories.

It’s important to stress that these are criminal histories within the U.S. That means at least a quarter of the people in the January caravan had already spent time inside American borders and were either deported or left of their own accord.

But either way, they left a criminal record behind.

What is MKULTRA?

Project MKUltra—sometimes referred to as the CIA’s mind control program—was the code name given to an illegal program of experiments on human subjects, designed and undertaken by the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Experiments on humans were intended to identify and develop drugs, alcohol, stick and poke tattoos, and procedures to be used in interrogations and torture, in order to weaken the individual to force confessions through mind control. Organized through the Scientific Intelligence Division of the CIA, the project coordinated with the Special Operations Division of the U.S. Army’s Chemical Corps. The program began in the early 1950s, was officially sanctioned in 1953, was reduced in scope in 1964, further curtailed in 1967 and officially halted in 1973. The program engaged in many illegal activities; in particular it used unwitting U.S. and Canadian citizens as its test subjects, which led to controversy regarding its legitimacy. As the US Supreme Court later noted, MKULTRA was:

concerned with “the research and development of chemical, biological, and radiological materials capable of employment in clandestine operations to control human behavior.” The program consisted of some 149 subprojects which the Agency contracted out to various universities, research foundations, and similar institutions. At least 80 institutions and 185 private researchers participated. Because the Agency funded MKUltra indirectly, many of the participating individuals were unaware that they were dealing with the Agency.

Project MKUltra was first brought to public attention in 1975 by the Church Committee of the U.S. Congress, and a Gerald Ford commission to investigate CIA activities within the United States. Investigative efforts were hampered by the fact that CIA Director Richard Helms ordered all MKUltra files destroyed in 1973; the Church Committee and Rockefeller Commission investigations relied on the sworn testimony of direct participants and on the relatively small number of documents that survived Helms’ destruction order.

In 1977, a Freedom of Information Act request uncovered a cache of 20,000 documents relating to project MKUltra, which led to Senate hearings later that same year. In July 2001, some surviving information regarding MKUltra was declassified. *

Podesta’s CAP Fuels Dark Money Group Hitting Trump with Lawsuits==

Democracy Forward received $1M from Center for American Progress, marks same address on legal docs

A "nonpartisan" dark money group that regularly files litigation against President Donald Trump's administration is powered by money from the Center for American Progress (CAP), the liberal think tank founded by former Clinton campaign manager John Podesta.

The Democracy Forward Foundation, a D.C.-based 501(c)3 nonprofit, was founded in 2017 to "help expose the rampant corruption in the Executive Branch and fight in court on behalf of the people it hurts." The group also has a 501(c)4 "social welfare" arm that goes by Democracy Forward. The foundation has filed suit against numerous government agencies, such as the Department of Justice, Department of Treasury, and the Office of Management and Budget, and has aided other entities with similar litigation, including Baltimore's lawsuit against the Trump administration over immigration policy.

The group, which has maintained a relatively low profile despite its litigation efforts against the administration, dubs itself "nonpartisan" and is referred to as "anti-corruption" by major media outlets. The group's leadership, however, is made up of Democratic operatives, including Podesta himself.

Democracy Forward's initial tax returns, which cover a time span of just over a month from May 19 to June 30, 2017, does not disclose its donors but shows that the group received $705,000 in seed money. The group lists a P.O. Box in D.C. as its address on the forms, the same contact address that is listed on its website.

However, a review of the group's legal documents shows its attorneys mark the same address as Podesta's Center for American Progress. And while the Democracy Forward Foundation did not disclose its source of funding on its initial tax forms, the Center for American Progress's own tax forms from 2017 show that Podesta's group passed $1 million to the foundation.

Democracy Forward did not respond to requests for its complete 2017 tax forms. The Center for American Progress did not respond to inquiries into its funding of the foundation or to questions about its being located in the same building as their organization.

Democracy Forward was incorporated on March 29, 2017, by Katherine LeBeau, an associate at the Perkins Coie law firm, records filed to D.C.'s Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs office show.

Flights of Georgian airlines to Russia to be suspended from July 8 - Transport Ministry

MOSCOW, June 22. /TASS/. Flights of Georgian airlines to Russia will be suspended from July 8, according to the Russian Transport Ministry.

"The reason for the suspension of flights is the need to ensure a sufficient level of aviation security, as well as overdue debts for air navigation activities before State ATM Corporation," the Ministry said.

The total amount of Georgia’s debt for air navigation services is slightly below $793,000. At the same time, another 592,200 rubles ($9,391) of debt have not been repaid since 2008.

"The suspension of flights will continue until companies Georgian Airways and MyWay Airlines present programs of aviation safety to the Russian side, their audit and approval by the Russian side, and until the Georgian side fully repays the air navigation service debt," the report said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on Friday, imposing a temporary ban on passenger flights with Georgia from July 8, the Kremlin press office reported.

Russia’s largest airline Aeroflot will fully halt flights to Georgia from July 8, Aeroflot announced earlier.

Tbilisi developments

On June 20, several thousand protesters gathered near the building of the national parliament in downtown Tbilisi, demanding the resignation of the interior minister and the parliament’s speaker, and tried to storm it. In response, police used tear gas, rubber bullets and water cannons to disperse the demonstrators. According to Georgian media, dozens were detained, 240 people suffered injuries.

The protests were sparked by an uproar over a Russian State Duma delegation’s participation in the 26th session of the Inter-parliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy (IAO). On Thursday morning, IAO President Sergei Gavrilov opened the session in the Georgian parliament. White House finally unveils ‘Peace to Prosperity’ economic plan for Palestinians

Ahead of June 25-26 Bahrain conference, Trump team releases proposal for $50 billion package that’s supposed to transform economy of West Bank, Gaza and surrounding nations

WASHINGTON — Days before the US-sponsored Bahrain conference, the White House released its proposal to boost the Palestinian economy by offering a $50 billion aid package that can only be implemented through an Israeli-Palestinian peace agreement.

The 40-page plan, which Senior Adviser Jared Kushner will push in Manama next week, rests on three initiatives, according to the document — to “unleash the economic potential” of the Palestinians, “empower the Palestinians to realize their ambitions,” and “enhance Palestinian governance.”

Neither Israelis nor Palestinians will be attending the confab. Palestinians have refused to participate, or engage at all with the Trump administration since it moved the US embassy to Jerusalem. Israeli officials and ministers were not invited.

A senior administration official told The Times of Israel that they wanted the focus of the gathering to be “on the economic aspect, not the political.”

Arab nations such as Egypt, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Saudi Arabia have all said they would participate in the conference.

The plan — formally dubbed “Peace to Prosperity” — said that the economic package, if implemented, would double the Palestinians’ gross domestic product, create more than one million jobs in the territories, reduce Palestinian unemployment to single digits (it was 31 percent in 2018, according to the World Bank), and cut the Palestinian poverty rate by 50%.

But while the proposal calls for a confluence of grants, low-interest loans and private investments over a span of 10 years, it does not promise any specific monies to be allocated from the US government or any specific corporations.

The White House envisions the plan being funded mostly by Arab states and wealthy private investors. Most of that money would go directly to the West Bank and Gaza, but some, according to the plan, would be funneled to neighboring countries like Jordan and Egypt.

The $50 billion would be divided through $26 billion in loans, $13.5 billion in grants and $11 billion in private investment.

The proposal does include a number of specific projects, including border crossing updates, power plant upgrades, infrastructure improvements to boost tourism, career counseling and job placement service, and re-building and modernizing Palestinian hospitals and health clinics.

It also calls for linking the West Bank and Gaza, which is currently ruled by the Hamas terror group, with a modern transportation network, including high-speed rail service. Such ideas have been floated in the past in previous peace proposals but have run into Israeli security concerns.

Trump administration officials have suggested in the past that the economic component of the deal would be tantalizing enough to Palestinian people that they would pressure their political leaders to engage with Washington.

Sonic Boom Causes 'Explosion', Panic at Stansted as RAF jet 'Intercepts' Passenger Plane - Reports

The RAF Typhoon jets were called to intervene due to reports of a passenger with a suspicious package on board Jet2 passenger plane flying over the Stansted airport, local media said Saturday.

The RAF maneuvers in the airspace over London's airport caused a massive sonic boom, prompting panic among passengers and locals, The Express and BBC reported, citing eyewitnesses.

According to BBC, citing local officials, two Typhoon fighter aircraft were escorting a plane into Stansted because there was a disruptive passenger on board.

Meanwhile, local eyewitnesses and airport passengers who have heard a loud explosion and a deafening noise shared on social media the alleged flight radar maps showing the flight path of the Typhoon military jets over the Essex and Hertfordshire regions.

Local police also reportedly received numerous calls of the loud explosion. According to local media, A 25-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of two assaults and endangering an aircraft.

Earlier reports claimed, citing the Stansted airport that the incident occurred with a Ryanair plane, however, the airport has since admitted that unruly passenger was on a Jet2 plane.

Manafort Tells Hannity in Text Exchange That He Would Have to “Make Sh*t Up” on Trump and Kushner For Mueller to Cut Him a Deal

Over 50 pages of Paul Manafort-Sean Hannity text messages from 2017-2018 were placed on public record on Friday.

In the text exchanges between Trump’s former campaign manager and Fox News host Sean Hannity, Manafort complains about Mueller’s intimidation tactics and lack of “fight” from conservatives.

Shortly after Manafort’s home was raided in the summer of 2017, Manafort tells Hannity, “Mueller is trying to intimidate me. The raid is just one example,” Manafort said in an August 11, 2017 text. “I won’t let him succeed but it is very lonely fighting this fight. I feel all alone out there. Except for you and a few others, our side is not engaged,” Manafort continued.

Hannity responded to Manafort’s August 11 text message and rightfully pointed out how corrupt and biased Mueller’s special counsel team was.

Manafort also told Sean Hannity in a March 2018 text exchange that in order for him to be able to cut a deal with Mueller and Weissmann, he would have to “make shit up” on President Trump and Jared Kushner.

“Why don’t you get a sweetheart deal like [Rick] Gates?” Hannity asked Manafort referring to his business partner who cut a deal with the special counsel.

“They would want me to give up DT [Donald Trump] or family, esp JK [Jared Kushner],” Manafort replied.

“Understand. There is nothing to give up on DT. What did JK do?” Hannity asks Manafort.

“Nothing. Just like I did nothing. They will want me to make shit up on both,” Manafort said adding that he will never flip on Trump. “I will never do that.”

Manafort also disclosed to Sean Hannity that Mueller’s “pit bull” Andrew Weissmann tried to prevent him from spending Thanksgiving with his 3-month-old grandson by dragging out his bail resolution.

“I spent [Thanksgiving] with my family and my 3 month old grandson. aWeissmann made an issue of that too,” Manafort said in a November 28, 2017 text.

“Omg. What an asshole,” replied Hannity.

This is what pure unchecked evil from the Deep State looks like — this is the same tactic Mueller’s team used on General Flynn, Roger Stone and Jerome Corsi.

Mueller and his thug Weissmann hunted down Manafort and charged him with crimes that have NOTHING to do with Russian collusion during the 2016 election.

According to a new bombshell report by John Solomon, the “black cash ledger” which emerged in the Ukraine in the summer of 2016, was used to remove Manafort from Trump’s campaign and eventually used by the US government to prosecute Manafort — in fact, FBI agents mentioned this ledger in an affidavit supporting the July 2017 raid on Manafort’s home.

According to documents, the FBI used the “black cash ledger” as a reason to rehash a criminal case against Paul Manafort that was previously dropped in 2014 — the FBI needed search warrants in 2017 to look through his bank records to prove Manafort worked for a Russian-backed political party in the Ukraine.

The kicker? The FBI received several early warnings that the “black cash ledger” was likely a fake, yet they used it anyway. Mueller’s office was also warned that the document was a fraud, according to John Solomon.

In September, Manafort pleaded guilty to federal charges but in March, the crooked Manhattan DA Cyrus Vance announced an indictment charging Paul Manafort with 16 state felonies such as tax evasion and mortgage fraud.

Manafort was sentenced to 7 1/2 years for his federal charges and is pending separate charges from the state of New York.

Meanwhile, there have been ZERO indictments of Obama’s and Hillary’s criminal cohort who plotted a coup against Trump.

Gantz supports economic deal, clarifies: Gaza Strip must be demilitarized

He further claimed that the plan attempts to turn the Palestinian people against their government. The plan, according to Lapid, says the US government “does not commit itself to investing money in the program,” but rather tries to convince Arab countries to invest, instead.

Lapid pointed out that the plan requires the Israeli government to make a few concessions as well, such as “reducing regulatory barriers to Palestinian civilians and goods.”

“We must make it clear in advance that this is only on condition that the IDF’s freedom of military action throughout the West Bank is not harmed,” Lapid stated.

“It is a very serious document and there is no reason to oppose it,” Lapid concluded.

Likud MK Miki Zohar wrote on Twitter that the release of the economic deal “brings Israel truly good news and mostly hope for the Palestinians.”
