Pausing the raids has one other function. Any people working for the president have been able to take positions around the country in preparation for the expected Sunday raids…and now they can STAY wherw they are positioned without it drawing undo attention since after all POTUS offered an ultimatuum…2 weeks to deal or the raids resume again…

So basically POTUS, ICE and milt/fbi can maneuver as they need to without it raising many questions why. Which is very useful if things get lively in the days immediately ahead.
