I tried the anagram thing, too.

Took a different approach. I sorted the anagrams by using the letters corresponding to the balls with numbers showing (MONHDFIK) and the balls without numbers showing (GECJLBA)

Neither group of letters yielded many results, and the most interesting word in both was "FIND CABLE".

Means something? IDFK
