Biden and Obama were joined at the hip for 8 years. Biden has to run on turning America back to what it was under Obama. Any scandals exposed about Biden exposes Obama for what he knew and when he knew it. Basically, then, attacking Biden is attacking Obama; except for racist stuff.
Dems attacking Biden for anything other than racist stuff risks alienating more blacks, so they have to go for the jugular on racism.
