Great question. Because all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. He was given wisdom and free will to follow it or not.

Pointed to the need for Jesus, and why the Truth of God aka the wisdom of God was not enough for humanity to be saved from our flesh nature. We would need transformed through the indwelling of the Spirit of God, which was made possible by Christ's death and resurrection.

Solomon looked forward to this Savior because he abided in God and realized that God was a better way than all the meaningless baloney he acknowledges he tried fruitlessly to fulfill himself with in both Ecclesiastes and Proverbs. He viewed wisdom as a progressive revelation that increases throughout life as one relates with God, and also acknowledges in these books that only God has the whole picture of wisdom and truth, until believers meet God in eternity.

For all men, the possilibty of perfect wisdom will only be known when we are glorified after our own resurrection. On earth, we can put the flesh nature to death continually through abiding in Christ and are sealed and seen by God, covered and viewed as "perfect". But we also will stumble in sin and show the constant need for our Savior as well. So we like Solomon, are beset by our humanity, yet the good news is the way out.
