I'm a little concerned with over-reactions.

After 9/11, there was a SEVERE over-reaction with wars and loss of freedom.

There's HUGE overreaction in the drug war.

We're starting to see the same thing with child sex stuff.

Hopefully, it's about doing good in the world, not issuing press releases & advancing careers.

For example, with drug busts, press releases play up the severity of the crimes & the dollar value because it looks good to people who don't know any better (unawake).

A "multi-year drug investigation that led to the arrests of 30 dangerous suspects and $2 million in assets" is often just low-level dumbasses. They count a pound of weed as valued at $4,000-$6,000. So, if some mule moves 5 pounds a weed a month for two years, he might make $1,000/month. In the press release, it looks like the guy made $5,000/month for two years……or $120,000. Throw 20 low level guys together and you've got a "multimillion dollar bust".

A guy possessing a picture of a naked 17 year old girl and a guy molesting a dozen 7 year olds are VERY different crimes…….but they roll it up into one neat headline for the mainstream media to advance careers and secure future funding.

Almost all of the people in the notables bust were for possession (they didn't actually hurt anyone or intend to hurt anyone). Still illegal…..but let's keep things in perspective.

Child sex trafficking should be the focus. Crimes without actual victims always make me a little uncomfortable from a government authoritarian perspective.
