Schumer is shooting from the hip. The plan was to have POTUS attack and kill Iranians inside Iran's territory and thus commit an act of war. FYI downing a drone is not an act of war, specially when the territorial limits are blured by UNCLOS.
Their plan was to have POTUS start an unathorized war and have him impeached and prosecuted for it. Then have the USA capitulate to Iran. They were beaten at their own game and have no clue what to do now. Now they will be the warmongers and expect more expert advice on Fox News for military attacks on Iran.
