I do wonder if China is a bit blinded by it's own system. You can't dismiss a culture/country with such a long history (and fireworks!!) However, there is "unity in diversity" (but not the way the "bad guys" mean it). In America, looking at official sources of power is not as effective as it might seem. How many American patriots are armed, preppers, etc. China also has an internal problem with Christianity. Instead of seeing people set free by the power of God as an asset, they think(as many other countries also believe) that Christians are dangerous subversives. Persecution of minority groups that adhere to traditional family structures (Christians and Muslims) will undermine the real strength of any country: her people.
Chinese hacking and spying using tech sold to us is really annoying, but in a country such as the US where we have built certain infrastructure over 150+ years our independence is harder to subdue than anticipated, I think. Infrastructure includes godly families, faith and a persistence to keep both.
